    NikeStrad,

KT and Los are both left handed.

You can change the function of all of our games to be left handed friendly.

    I WANT MY MILLION !!

clippers i doubt would take drew, thomas, #9, and detroit pick for #3 and kandi. their not going to trade Olowakandi unless they get a center in return.

    so how about:
#9, cato, williams, drew, and detroit pick
    for
    #3 and olowokandi

DD-Who's your source that KT is left handed? I want proof? Is his handwriting messy?

Your million will be made in marketing. Now that you can do that, get some of the great lefties, there are a ton of them to advertise your product.

    Some guys who can advertise
    1. Ken Griffey Jr. (bats left)
    2. Barry Bonds (bats left)
    3. Lamar Odom
    4. Cuttino Mobley
    5. Toni Kukoc
    6. Babe Ruth (bring him back from the dead...or have Bryce Drew pretend to be him. He should be able to gain the weight on the bench)
    7. David Robinson
    8. Jalen Rose

    Here's a commercial idea
[scene opens with Griffey and Bonds cracking homeruns from the left side]
Griffey: All in a days work.
Bonds: Yep, batting left handed is great.
Griffey: Hey, look over there, it's former member of the 6-time NBA Champion Chicago Bulls, Toni Kukoc

[Toni walks up with championship rings on his finger, dribbling a basketball.]

Kukoc: Hey guys, how's it going?

    [Kukoc and Bonds shake hands]

Bonds: good, why don't you take a couple of cuts.
    Kukoc: Sure
[Toni swings and connects, through video editing Griffey hits a ball out, and it shows the part where the ball goes out]

Griffey: Wow, that was clutch. Just like that shot you hit when some righthander was pouting on the bench.

[Clip shows of Kukoc hitting shot while Pippen complains]

[Bryce Drew playing Babe Ruth comes up as a ghost]
Drew: Remember, you gotta do the trot after you connect. No need to run or hurry. Lefties have it much better

[Clip shows Odom throwing down a left handed jam, Cuttino crossing a guy over to the left, Jalen Rose hitting a J on "All defense" Kobe, and Robinson making a fool of Shaq]

Ruth (Drew): Remember kids, buy Starlancer, with an optional left handed mode function.

    There you are [IMG]

Check this out, a list of many NBA lefties:
    http://members.aol.com/apbrhist/lefties.html

Joe Bryant? Joe "Jellybean" Bryant? Why, Kobe's dad? No wonder he has skillz.

We also have Shawn Bradley. He's big.

Phil Jackson is such a winner because he's left handed. Same with Bill Russell. And Willis Reed.

Harold Miner would have made Houston win more. He's left handed.

I think I have completely lost control of this thread. But then I never had control of it at all. :0

Houston would never agree to #9, Cato, Drew, and KT for Kandi and the #3. Besides unless something happens or an agreement is reached, what can we get at #3 that we really need that we cannot get at #5,6 or 7?

The point I would really like to make is this: Any deals that you see, visa vi Sherlock's expansive and adventurous scenarios .... is probably more likely this year than any other year in the NBA.

The combination of 1) Shallow depth of game breakers and star makers, regardless of what spin is being put on it, 2) The new CBA making it team friendly toward acquiring rooks, 3) The realization after last year that Free Agent acquisitions are not as supportive or as easy as previous(see the New CBA,again), 4) Multiple position needs by several teams, 5) Multiple teams with multiple draft picks, 6) Several teams in transition (and some close to panic)including Pacers, Knicks, Heat,Rockets, Sonics, Hornets, etc... , 7) Several NBA franchise ownership changes, 8) A record number of coaching changes in the last 6-8 months.

I agree with you, just about every team seems to be in chaos mode, except the hated "fakers". The entire eastern conference is in shambles. The Heat,Knicks and Pacers are facing changes which would severely weaken the east. The "fakers just might have a 2 or 3 year dynasty in the making.

    oeilpere,

Is this how it breaks out?

    close to panic:
    NY.......aging team with fat payroll
    Heat.....low on talent
    Hornets..direction and E Jones
    Philly...Iverson vs Brown issue
Celts....what direction if any is this team going in?
    Detroit..Hill and see Celts comment
Toronto..McGrady issue and a few players away
Hawks....can they recover from the bad Blazer trade?
    Utah.....aging team
    Blazers..a PLAYER away
Spurs....Duncan issue and aging team and more talent
Sac......Webber issue and aging team...more talent
    Twolves..need another player
Bucks....need a solid big man and should have done more with the talent they had
    Wizards..how to dump overpaid players?
    Suns.....need another big man

    just transition:
    Rockets
    Seattle...maybe in the other group
    Pacers
    Orlando
    Bulls
    Griz......better mgt group
    Dallas

    just exising:
    Cavs
    Clips
    Denver
    GS
    Nets
    --------------------------------------------
Lakers....can they get a sign-n-trade on Rice done?

Why does everyone want to draft Demarr Johnson, he may have a great upside but if it is high as a lot of posters round here think he should be a top 5 pick.

Plus just as importantly the back-court is set for both now and the future, don't mess with it

What the Rockets desperately need is large, strong, athletic front court players who want to do the dirty work, rebound, scrap defend, set big picks, intimidate opposition players, and dominate the key way who can also run the floor and move well in offense without the ball.

Maybe we can draft someone who fits the bill, maybe a draft day trade is required, or maybe via free agency or maybe a trade after the draft. I don't care how but get it done Rox, because until we own the key way we won't win the title.

pere-we're just having marketing discussions. Wouldn't a commercial featuring Griffey, Bonds, Odom, Mobley, Kukoc, the ghost of Babe Ruth, etc. be quite a commercial?

I've given up on getting a higher pick. I *am* however interested in getting #10, especially if things go the right way. I want a draft of Moiso and Dermarr pretty bad. Here's my idea of suggestion, KT/pick Orlando owes us/conditional first rounder (or Detroit pick) FOR #10, and either Harpring, Doleac, or Strong, or whoever they want to give us for some cap relief.(Orlando saves $544,800 plus the salary of whoever they give us, so likely around 2-3 million) KT is cheap talent who's ready to start at PF for them, and getting a guy with that low of a price tag that can start is a big plus.

That'd be simply awesome. Then, after drafting Mickeal at #38, we signed/traded with Boston, Walt for Fortson. And of course, resign Mobley [IMG]

    new team of:
    Hakeem/Cato
    Fortson/Moiso
    Mickeal/Johnson
    Anderson/Mobley
    Francis/Moochie

extras-player from Magic, Los, Drew, Bullard, Pig, etc.

Notice I have Mickeal first at SF. There is a reason. DJ could then come off the bench, which I think for at least the 1st half is the smart thing. We'd also have a SICKLY good defensive swing rotation in Mickeal-Anderson, who cares if they're undersized? We can then also bring in the Dermarr-Mobley combo off the bench.

Moiso also is brought along slowly, look at the 2nd unit....4 guys who are pretty good, and Moochie (not bad himself). Then, when Moiso and DJ develop, you have another superstar (DJ) and a solid role type of guy, probably more in Moiso. Sounds like a good team to me.

    Dreamcasting is fun [IMG]

Well that about sums it up, bro. Nuff said.

    SmegSmurf

The word is that (DJ) this versatile player's real value is his ability to play the 2/3. He would be projected to play the 3 with us along with (ugh) Walt, and a brief Shandon appearance when matchups work.

    Ole oeilpere,

I understand the argument about Demarr, although i am just not personally convinced, especially after the way the he played when Kenyon went done, with only one year of college he could still go either way, but with his slight frame i suspect his nba development will be a bit like McGradys, that is he will come along slowly and then explode (probably in the last season of his contract).

But if Walt and Demarr share most of the minutes at 3, then for shandon to be a the court a reasonable amount that doesn't leave alot of playing time for Mobes, who i my mind is ok with not starting as long as he gets starters minutes, which he bascially did last year.

So you don't think we should address our front court needs in the draft and that we should save that for a trade or free agency??

By the way, Nike we should keep KT, we get a steal drafting him last year, we should keep him and see if he can continue his improvement this year, if not then trade him later.

pere-No problem. KT would be enticing for them, and it'd basically be about trading KT, Don Maclean, Mirsad Turksan for Moiso, and either Harpring, Doleac, or Strong.

That doesn't sound too bad to me. I also feel if we want Fortson, we need to say goodbye to KT. We'd be majorly screwed playing teams like Minnesota if we had a PF tandem of Fortson-Thomas, Garnett would eat them for lunch. Moiso gives us versatility.

Too bad I'm not the Rockets GM [IMG].

BTW-The proverb means we're moving to Africa, to suit Hakeem. [IMG]

Sorry man, missed your previous post. But honestly, I think deals like you described are going to be the common (and not rare) ingredient to this year's draft.

I do not like giving up KT for Mike Doleac or anyone of that level. I would like to give KT a chance to develop a little more, although I like what Doleac would give us also.

Awesome roster. Fearsome. I wouldn't mind going to war with that lineup, although I wpould probably try to get Drew and someone else traded off to get one more ingredient.

    Smegg

I posted somewhere else about what I thought would happen to the PT of Mobes and Shandon, et al if DerMarr was drafted. I can't find it now. Anyway ......

Actually I see Shandon as the one losing the more time. Mobes would pick up a little more time at the PG(minimal minutes at key points of the game or to swap the two with Steve), SF(maybe double last years position which wasn't much ...) and of course the majority of his minutes at the two spot. Shandon on the other hand has a matchup profile that is similiar to DerMarr, would cut into SA's at SG and SF. They would match well with the long, stretched court offenses like Kobe, Rose, Odom, Sprewell, Hill, etc.... . DerMarr taking advantage (well maybe not with Kobe's new D) and running all night on the offensive attack, and Shandon shutting them down monsterly effective on the defensive. For that very reason, I see this team of Mobes/Shandon/DerMarr as a tough matchup for any opponent. East and West. I would love to see it.
On another note: If we were able to get both Moiso and DerMarr Johnson, which is the focus these days ......... picture this:

You ran all night long with these Rockets and here it is in the fourth quarter and your coming down the court on a fast break and you look over and EVERYONE in RED is RUNNING RIGHT ALONGSIDE YOU!!! Including A SEVEN FOOT POWER FORWARD, with a big wide grin on his face, and just itching the let people know he has game.

Go-on. Go for a layup! I dare you!
