That's the best draft combine list in a long time Wemby Miller Henderson Amen Asur Whitmore Feels like we can't lose on upside with a top 6 pick. Getting a top 4 pick would guarantee us the ability to pass on the Thompson twins if our FO doesn't love their ability to get a feel for them due to OTE.
Honestly could see any of these guys in conversation for #1 in a lot of draft classes. Telling y'all, this is gonna be a 2003 type of draft. Multiple future HoFers. Just hope we don't end up with the Darko of this top 6, whoever that ends up being
I think there is an opportunity to make a trade and still have a great draft. If you get the French big man 1st overall. If I say If. Then you could ship Senguan Martin or Porter to can another high end 1st rounder. And find your self a true SF. And with the 20th pick get your true defensive big man I Livily so have a towers effect with your centers. You obviously want to find a PG and a SF if you make a trade in of the above mentioned. But is Wamby a true Center? And can he play flex out to SF or PF some?
I really think we try to move the pick if we don't get Top-2, or so I hope. #3/#4 + Jalen or Sengun could get us a legit star, if there's any good options on the trade market (since Brown seems more unlikely now with his looming max extension). I don't want Amen, whose J will hinder us the same way Simmons/Westbrook's lack of jumpers hinder their teams, no matter their physical advantages or playmaking ability. I like Whitmore and Miller but I don't know if they're what we need -- as they're going to be underutilized as long as our PG/playmaking problem isn't solved. I know we're linked to Harden, but I'm iffy on that now, since he is ball-dominant and not the consistent threat he used to be.
Results are still really coming on on the Combine measurements right now so don't read too much in it until we have everything. Some guys are also not getting measured as usual.
I take it Scoot Henderson didn't get measured--not surprising, but I would've liked to find out how tall he really is, since he spent the majority of this season at age 18. Also looks like Cam Whitmore participated in the drills but refused measurement? So more fuel to the "he's actually 6'5" fire.
Seems he got measured. Edit: But yeah, I don't see Scoot or Brandon Miller numbers. Also no Lively (yet?). Not even sure if they're at the combine (haven't tracked that). Most other guys I have even vague interest in seem to have measurements I think?
