Boykins isn't good anymore, plus he's not a good distributor and he can't defend for ish. Give some young guy a chance, we aren't going anywhere anyway.
Why not? Since returning from his injury, he's averaged about 20mpg -- more than enough for a backup. And he's still got enough game left to handle backup duties, especially for a team with no playoff hopes whatsoever. If Lin goes down with an injury, though, there'd be trouble.
