You shoot water into your ear. It all comes out that way. Takes about 3 tries per ear.

BTW, I went to a doctor the first time this happened. I thought I was going deaf. This was how he treated it.

I just decided I could do it myself.

I've done this a few times. I don't know if it really "helps" or not, but it does pull alot of wax out and make your ears feel better.

You put the drops in your ear first and it's supposed to loosen the wax. Then you fill that blue bulb thing with water, stick the narrow tip in the ear, and squeeze hard. The wax comes out along with the water.

When you do this make sure you are sitting down. Some people who are standing at the sink will sometimes end up on the ground from the dizziness.

If I wanted excess wax in my ears, I'd just neglect the Q-tips.

Wax is not supposed to get in your ears. The hollow candles create a vacuum that pulls the wax (and all other kinds of crap) out.

I'd give the ear candles a shot if I were you. I think they're pretty cool. When my wife first brought some home, i wasn't overly excited about it; but they really do seem to work -- if you do it right.

I can't hear (all the way) out of one, and it completely blows! I had a tumor in my ear due to excessive wax buldup when I was about 9.

Anything that has Auric cleansing as a possible benefit is a little to New-Agey for me.

I didn't know this was going to turn into a "clutch bbs - what's in your ears?" thread. Gross...

    i'm sitting at about:

50% chance of doing ear candling
48% chance of that ear wax removal kit with the blue thing to shoot water in my ear.
2% chance of holding a syringe next to my ear drum...makes me cringe just thinkin about it.

First off the water syringe is the best system. You have to use warm water mixed with Hydrogen Peroxide, and you have to put drops in your ears first to loosen up the wax. They also have small plastic rings that only go as are short enough that they don't pierce your eardrum. Never, never use a Q-tip to clean out your ears!

If you use cold water you'll end up getting dizzy and sick, plus it won't be warm enough to melt the wax and flush it out.

I asked the Ear, Nose, Throat doctor about this one day and he said that excessive ear cleaning is actually bad for your ears.

Its not good to constantly remove the all the stuff from your ears and a lot of that is in there for a reason...to keep bad stuff from getting into your ears.

Constantly removing the deep down wax in your ear can lead to easy infection and such.

Just thought you'd all like to know.
