McNabb was awful. His passes were 100 MPH low into the ground. Was he afraid to run with the ball? When in doubt, tuck the ball and run with that sumabitch.
That's what it looked like to me too. That pregame stuff was lame. I know the espn cronies get paid to hype it up, but they made it sound way more interesting than it was. I don't think either player should have been suspended(if they were punches, they were weak ass ones), but if there was a suspension it should of just been Mathis. I felt kind of cheated watching the game. I wanted to see what atlanta could do vs the philly d, not what they could do vs a philly d that's starting a mlb that's pretty much worthless.
Thanks, I will try to find the video on the net and look at it again because it looked like his head was down. You're right about ESPN, they overhyped what happened and kept replaying the incident over...and over...and over again. It was very lame. Yeah, the game's announcers (Madden and Michaels) the people calling it on the radio, and even anchors on sports highlights were showing that the inexperienced MLB (whoever the hell it was) was out of position numerous times where Trotter would mostly likely be in position.
So you think Vick had a good game? He was 12-23 (52% completion) with 156 yards 0 TDs 1 Int and 2 Fumbles. He rushed for 68 yards on 11 carries with 1 TD. His game was decent enough to win but it wasn't that good and don't forget the Eagles were missing a big part of what could've helped contain Vick's scrambling. I think he should've/could've done a lot better.
Yeah, and I hate to say this, but I am going to come to T.O.'s defense on this. He did everything he was supposed to do (he had 7 catches for over 100 yds.), McNabb was just awful in the game and missed Owens when he was wide open several times as well as other open receivers. The hit that McNabb took early on in the game may have had an effect on his throwing ability but I don't know how serious he was hurt.
I can't believe how Akers missed the first two field goals. That guy is usually clutch. It might have made the game a little bit different...although I do agree McNabb sucked last night.
Vick had a good game, he would have had a touchdown pass but the receiver was tackled at the one and he had a rushing td and kept the Eagles Defense off balance all night.
i can't believe you'd call that a good game. but that's what i see from vick supporters. a guy throws for less than 200 yards. has 3 turnovers. and he's had a "good" game. i guess i don't know football as well as i thought i did.
You don't have to keep throwing the ball when you're leading the whole game and the other team can't stop your rushing attack. If don't know that then you don't know football. btw, the object is to win, not throw for over 200 yds.
I hear ya. they were running the ball very well. they didn't need his passing game. but we've seen what's happened to them when they have needed it. it's not there. i agree the object is to win. but vick alone doesn't win the game. we've been through this before. the defense won that game last night...and a little help from Philly's FG kicker. none of that speaks to vick's value. very average QBs have won in this league, particularly on teams with great defenses.
Hey MadMax, did you read my post on the first page? I thought you were saying Vick had a good game and that post was directed at you. Here is that post again:
i didn't see that. for no one else starting in their 5th season other than michael vick would that be considered a "good game."
