Try a Dime-Cover 2... you can do zone or man...

Thenafter a few play start to send one of the slot DB's on a blitz... thats a fun spot to blitz from because you'll get a good shot at teh QB...

If they are throwing to one guy the whole time, double team that receiever... sometimes they will ride the one guy the entire game..

Your real test will be how many points you let Vandy put up on you! ;)

I destroyed Vandy in an earlier game in my current season. You're right though, Ole Miss pretty much rode one receiver the whole game. I used the 4-2-5 formation to blitz with a cornerback which works pretty well. I'll try the dime and see if that has any success, man those 4-5 wide out formations killed me but I won the game with a 1 yard TD run with my QB with 1 second left on the clock. Final score Arkansas 63 - Ole Miss 59

Any other tips on the game would be greatly appreciated. :)

Double team the receiver that's killing you and always blitz at least one player. Try to work in blitz packages that have your 'impact' player blitzing. Also, mix it up. Don't run the same defense every play.

If I'm ever getting killed by air, I play ball control on offense. Run the ball and milk the clock. It seems to take away the opposing QB's momentum. In this years game, it's a lot harder to get around the corner so I run up the middle more. The direct-snap usually get about 5 or 6 yards.

Believe it or not, I've had more trouble stopping the run than the pass in this years game. Vickers from Colorado almost ran up 300 yards on me the other day. Of course, I was playing as A&M so....

Try a lot of Cover-3 as well...this has both corners and at least one safety playing a deep zone, with the linebackers zoning over the middle and in toward the sidelines. Mix in a blitz every now and then too.

I was getting killed by the passing game too before I started using this.
