Damn. I haven't followed any of this, but judging by Facebook friends reactions: PS4>Xbox One. Sucks because I have fully bought into Windows 8 and haven't had a PS since PS2, which I hardly played since I preferred Xbox. Having any restrictions on buying/trading games is big to me, since I never keep a game once I tire of it. Oh well. Maybe this next gen of consoles aren't for me. I only play NBA2K and maybe one other game a year. But then, I said the same thing when this last gen debuted, so we'll see.
MS actually had a better conference and delivered on games. They just couldn't overcome the backlash from their policies.
That trend will also continue on the next generation, with PS4 bridging the gap in North America. Xbox One's main advantage over PS4 is its multimedia content, but no one outside the US gives a damn about it because it's regionally locked. This is the reason why PS3 was more successful in Europe and why PS4 is going to be, too.
I actually think a lot of it comes down to loyalty. Americans supporting MS, Japan supporting Sony and the rest of the world leaning towards Sony. The PS3 was lacking in some features but came with affordable blu-ray. It still lost to 360 and I don't think multimedia was the deciding factor.
And sports. It gets tougher with a family esp a new baby. I bought and then sold Madden 13 right away when I realized that I would never play it. With this being said, I pre-ordered the ps4.

Wow, hell no. And I'm sayin this as a 360 user. MS disappointed hard and the exclusives were garbage. PS4 is cheaper, allows used games, you can play offline, way better exclusives, faster hardware,...
So you are buying a gaming console because 1. its cheaper and 2. no drm..... Forget if the games are less interesting, atleast I can let my friends borrow my boring games....
Unless you are a die-hard Halo/GOW fan, I can't see any reason to own an Xbox One over a PS4 at this point.

Better exclusives to who? Wouldn't that be an opinion.... That something that Xbox releases as an exclusive is not interesting to you but may be interesting to someone else. He admitted himself that the Xbox exclusives were more interesting but that he was going for PS4.... Wish you would explain what you were expecting from Xbox... Free games? I couldn't think of anything else they would have shown to have made you change your mind on hating something because everyone else and because your friends cant afford a brand new game...
I didn't buy one used 360 game so it's not the biggest deal to me, but thanks for jumping to that conclusion. I guess everyone that favours PS4 is broke, you guys are real idiots. MS messed up this time and has the inferior system and they always had worse exclusives.
You wont get an answer that is fair to Xbox.... Its pretty much going to be... PS4 is cheaper, PS4 No DRM...... With that said, forget any kind of innovation Xbox is bringing with Kinect 2. Forget the fact that content wise and media wise Xbox live still has more support than PS... Forget that Xbox is going to have a cloud based console capable of little to no load times. But but PS4 gives you a cheap headset and hdmi cable with purchase.. Well yeah, I wish they did provide a cable with my purchase for something I will connecting to my Tv. Camera for playstation is $59 and does 100x less than Kinect wich actually sells for $40 more... Only difference is Xbox is saying we want you have to Kinect because we feel its going to change the way you play games. This Kinect is better and more responsive. Take the Kinect away and you have a $399 console. Take DRM away and now you have Xbox r@ping PS.... Nothing but the truth.... There, yall happy now...
