There will be some of that later, but I don't know if I should care. You were right tinman, they suck. They'll probably sell it for a pretty good while, but I think things will start to really dry up after about 18-24 more months. This end of this year and going into 2014 will probably be its peak (GTA V, Titanfall, MGS V, etc). But after that, won't be much more to play.
The camera is used for gameplay, nfc will be supported in the near future, and bluetooth is how the controller communicates with the console. I'm sure your son's Leapad is powerful enough to support current generation games. Obviously you're too clever for me here, I'll just bow out respectfully.
You brought up the cell phones. I know what Nintendo did. It was $199 for GameCube as well. Then $249 for Wii. Now $299 for Wii U. I also think the situation with Nintendo is quite different. Guess who owned them all until Wii U? This guy.
Woot, Mirror's Edge 2. Thought maybe the rumor was wrong (thought it was supposed to be at MS conference...and maybe some sort of exclusive). (actually never played much of ME, but I like the IP)
Dragon Age: Inquisition coming in Falls 2014. YES!! Don't rush the damn thing. WTF Morrigan? Oh well. Don't really care because I play mine with mods.
I guess for those that might care, apparently next-gen NBA 2K will be shown during Sony's conference.
So what real value is the controller adding for me again? Especially when limited to two of them, and optimaly on one at a time? The controller isn't processing the game, just receiving the signal from the system. Not saying there aren't interesting things to the Wii U, but it doesn't have close to the specs of the PS4 or Xbox One or the added functions. $400 was probably the best we could have hoped for, and we got $500. If it didn't have so much negative publicity for other factors (used games, internet connection, no 360 compatability, privacy issues, etc.) the price would have been easier to swallow.
8PM (central) is the time. If it will be on any channel, it will be Spike, but I'm not 100% sure they'll show it (prime time and all that). Gametrailers.com, Gamespot, PlayStation Blog, etc., should all stream it though.
GT stream implied that Spike TV coverage won't return until tomorrow, so yeah, I think you need to go online in order to catch the Sony conference.
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articl...-with-3-models-most-expensive-at-USD599-rumor Can't see Sony actually repeating "$599," unless that includes camera, sizable HDD, a Vita, and maybe more. $399 without camera makes sense though.
Gosh that Microsoft presentation was awful. I was more excited for the XBox One then Ps4 but I was left totally underwhelmed... Heres too PS4 having a great conference, releasing for $399 and killing off the XBox One
~9 minute extended MGS5 trailer tomorrow it seems. Haven't really rewatched the trailer from today, so I think I'll just wait until tomorrow to see it in glorious HD and all that. Ubisoft conference has started, for those who care. Watch Dogs and all that. Maybe Beyond Good and Evil 2. And almost certainly some bad games, bad conference people, and awkward moments.
It's also kind of weird if it doesn't. I understand the logic behind it, but how often is new hardware actually cheaper? The gadget landscape has really changed. I wouldn't mind $599 if the games were $49.
Okay...for someone that has been boycotting Madden for what must be 4-5 years now Madden 25 looks pretty amazing. Maybe I'll get it this year.
