Looks great. Not a whole lot different than the first, but thats a good thing. It was a little annoying though having to see the guy playing. I wish they would have just showed the game screen the whole time. Either way, both that and FFXIII look awesome. I may have to get a 360 now!
I thought it looked a bit goofy in the beginning of the presentation, but that last demo had potential.
http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/01/xbox-360-getting-full-retail-games-delivered-on-demand/ hey RC, i just read this and i was wondering, if games are downloadable and thus run off the HD in the 360, will this cure us from some of the disc reading/freezing errors i get on my games? logically i think it should, but i'm not sure.. i always hear my disc spinning and spinning and stopping, and my madden or nba2k games will freeze.. sucks.. i'm hoping this will be the cure that brings me back to internet gaming on 360 by the time madden 2010 comes out.
For those interested, EA's conference is at 4PM Central, you can watch the stream online at Gamespot, Gametrailers, or IGN. It's also airing on G4TV (191 on Dish). My guess is that they'll probably show Mass Effect 2, along with the new NFS, Madden and Live. This will also be the second year since 2K's lead guy went to EA. Live 09 was a definite improvement, hopefully the next one will continue ton that path and give some competition to 2K.
EA is behind bioware and Dragon Age as well. I wonder if they will talk about that at the conference as well.
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/988/988687p1.html E3 2009: Metal Gear Solid: Rising Revealed Kojima bringing the next Metal Gear game exclusively to Xbox 360. by Jim Reilly June 1, 2009 - Kojima took the stage at Microsoft's press conference and dropped a major announcement: Remember all those teasers we saw over the past month? It wasn't the new PSP game. It was, in fact, a completely new series in the Metal Gear franchise. Titled Metal Gear Solid: Rising, the game appears to mainly focus on the character Raiden, as there were no shots of Solid Snake at all in the extremely vague announcement teaser shown. While this news comes at the Microsoft presser, no announcements of exclusivity were revealed, so for now, expect this to be multiplatform, or a timed-exclusive at the very least. Update The game is indeed exclusive to the Xbox 360. Sorry, Sony fans.
So wait, the new MGS is NOT exclusive, right? I just got home, and I'm trying to sift through all the confusion (got to love E3 announcements). Seems like it was somehow pushed as exclusive (and IGN reported as such?), but now there are reports saying otherwise: http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/696050/Metal-Gear-Solid-Rising-Not-Exclusive-To-360.html That would make the most sense I suppose. Anyway, don't have much time tonight, but I'll try to review some of the good stuff. Of course, I wouldn't mind someone bringing me up to speed here. edit: Wait, is MGS PC too? Interesting. edit2: Plus Kojima Productions working on Castlevania for 360/PS3 too.
It is funny that people continue to count Microsoft out, because they have SOOOOO much money. I can't wait for the review RC!
there are more xbox360 users than ps3 users, but ps3 seems to be vocal here on clutchfans. the game that will rock is Modern Warfare 2. I don't know if I should be excited about that new Halo game.
Halo is always great. It will not be anything revolutionary I think, but Halo just has that special feel that most FPS games do not... Modern Warfare is VERY exciting. I am also excited about Call Of Juarez 2. The first was awesome and had a TON of potential. The "Rockstar" western looks solid as well.
Obviously, there should be a lot of attention on Sony tomorrow involving any immediate plans for a price cut and/or new SKU. If nothing new emerges, then there might not be a price cut, at least in the next few months. I don't think I'd rule out a price cut around the September-November time frame though. IIRC, Sony did raise expectations for PS3 sales this FY. Can't really see that happening without a price cut and/or PS3 redesign (as mentioned earlier).
Checked out the video on IGN for The Beatles: Rock Band. I can't decide if I liked the look or not. The characters look REAL cartoony, but the sets look pretty nice. It looks like they're going to not only use actual scenes from Beatles history (Ed Sullivan Show, Shea Stadium) but possibly song-influenced ones as well (Abbey Road, Octopus' Garden etc.). Plus, the inclusion of three part harmonies is nice, although for me I can't find one person who wants to sing when they're sober, much less three. At any rate, since The Beatles are my all time favorite band, it's pretty much a must buy.
So I guess SE is working on the 360 version of FF13 prior to the PS3 version being done, which does make sense (despite what SE originally said). Spoiler Or maybe the PS3 version is done! I haven't see the new trailer yet. Curious to see what the English voices are like.
