How is progressive downloading a "new' feature? Seems like that should have been there for ages. Has'nt the 360 had that since launch?
Yeah, when they were pushing that "feature" in the conference, I was saying to myself "Well, I would hope you would have that feature since it is pretty standard." Apparently Bungie's E3 announcement got canceled by their publisher. As if E3 couldn't get any worse. FWIW, I believe you can download HD videos to the PS3 games that were shown off today on the PS Store (or I can post downloadable links). Some of it wasn't even really shown off at E3, which was probably a mistake. The MotorStorm 2 trailer looks great (Evolution has the uncanny ability to make a game look like crap, and then make it look amazing <6 months from launch), and there is a trailer that shows off the multiplayer aspects of KZ2. I know i'm way behind the 8 ball in relation to video games (see - me never having heard of Mass Effect until last week) Is Gears of War really that good? I'm a sucker for FPS... Is this a game i should definately go out and try?
Ummm, Yes! Unreal Tournament would be another to check out of you want a more fast paced "twitch shooter" type game. Excellent multiplayer etc.....
Yes, its completely different from the rest of the FPSers. you'll like it. its more gritty and requires teamwork on the online side. go rent it first.

BTW, when I was replaying Resistance, I sort of freaked out that the picture at the site of the 7 soldiers was in the game. I thought it was just something created for this ARG project.

do you really play all these games Cola? I've bought like 2 games this year. and Rock Band was really expensive.
Its kind of mixed like Socom. You can see yourself run and take cover around, but the kills generally happen in a 1st person scope.
It is being made by Treyarch right? I'd rather not find out more...OK, maybe I should actually check it out before totally dismissing it. I don't buy a lot of games, but I try to play most of the major ones either by renting them or borrowing them from friends. I usually have to wait until I'm not so busy with school, so it usually means I don't get to play some games as soon as they come out. When they're only 6-10 hours long, I can usually beat one of them every weekend or so.
I'm impresssed with the video service. Nice prices, it beats $5 comcast ppv. I liked the new Resistance 2 trailer, it looks awesome!
I always find the FPS discussions humorous because, at least to me, neither Bioshock, GOW, Resistance, COD4, Halo 3 or ANY of the recent FPSs can touch Half Life 2 for gameplay and overall enjoyment (talking single player experience here) and that game is almost 4 years old.
Well...yeah. I haven't played Gears or H3 (although I have played H1), but it is kind of hard to think any of these recent games could compare favorably to HL2 given the circumstances. I did like some things in Resistance and BioShock better than HL2 (although maybe Deus Ex or the previous SS games would be a better comparison for BioShock), but there were some aspects of those games that needed some work IMO. Given the praise for both games (and even Gears), maybe they can make some improvements in their future games. There can be a big difference once you've established a successful IP. Although this does remind me...is anyone else disappointed that R2 is going with a 2 weapon system (IOW, you can only hold 2 weapons at a time)? Seems like they're limiting one of the best things about R1, but I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. It will be pretty hard to change my mind about this though. They also changed the health system, although this doesn't bother me as much.
Along with G4, I think Gamespot has had a lot of nice exclusive video on their live show. I'd try to post links to videos, but they've shown a lot. I haven't really had a chance to watch everything. I've mostly just stuck to some of the PS3 exclusives that I wanted to learn a little more about (R2, KZ2, LBP, Infamous, etc.). Some gifs from R2 and KZ2: Spoiler (didn't think this part was realtime when they showed it earlier...had me fooled) I will say that despite the delays, I can't help but smile every time I see LittleBigPlanet.
Allright I am digging the video service. I never saw XBL's service in action so its all new to me. Very cool. Ill never be bored again.
