"How about a boxing game where you put the controller down and you shadow box infront of the camera to fight in the game."
    _____________

If this worked well it would be a blast - and a great way to get some exercise.

"...to this day I still don't fully understand why the Dreamcast tanked, it was pretty revolutionary at the time it debuted."
    ____________

The Dreamcast tanked because it came out too soon and was underpowered compared to what was coming - everyone was happy to keep playing their PS1 for another year. The same thing is about to happen to the X-Box 2 – why buy the new 360 when it comes out when the current X-Box isn’t even maxed out yet?

Wow! Thanks for the info RC Cola! If the PS3 is going to have those interactive/online features (video chating would be GREAT!:D ) then it is a VERY easy decision for most people who want the best gaming as well as comparable features to what the XBox offers beyond gaming.

Man, I seriously can't wait for the PS3 to debut!

Killzone pic on PS3 trailer- (This is just rediculous. This looks better than some of the best pre-rendered graphics on the PS2.1)

There are so many things they'll be able to put in games now.

Imagine if the Sony camera could change in game conditions going by changed in a players facial expressions.

So...once again in a boxing game....an opponent would become more agressive if a players expression went from normal to whincing because they were having trouble beating their opponent.

Its probably not capable of this yet...but imagine a madden game where the camera followed either your eyes or head movement when your are about to snap the ball on offence and it would chnage its defensive patters if you were looking more towards one side of the field.

It would be VERY ironic if the much criticised games consoles ended up being the new age entertainment/exercise system. :D

    Other ideas....

Imagine playing splintercell with one of those headsets on. Your standing in a darkened corner and you are breathing to loud into the microphone.....a passing guard might "hear" you.

In a game like SOCOM Navy Seals....instead of just giving voice commands...you could give those silent hand signals to soldiers in your squad that a camera picks up.

I like the idea of shadow boxing though. I can just see every guy having a god at a game like that.....getting their own fighting stance into the game and trying to beat up their digital opponent. :D

They already have this feature. My brother and I played co-op online on the newest version and I walked right up to a sleeping guard and yelled in my head set, "Hey! Wake the f*** up!" Of course, the guard awoke suddenly, tried to jump out of bed, and then felt the the pain of my bullets raining down on him. :)

Revolution's online feature will be free. Does XBL still win?

You are such a Sony (playstion) fan it almost makes me sick..not there's anything wrong w/ being a PS fan... I guess :D

But looking at everything so far, I'd say that each system has at least one unique thing to offer to where it would really be beneficial to own them all, if possible. The Revolution with its sleek, small design and ability to play NES, SNES and N64games is an awesome feature, PS3's (what looks to be) superior power and graphics and the eye toy, and the 360's Xbox Live service (which I'm betting will still dominant over sony's and nintendo's Live services). Couple that with the exlusive games each is offering: Revolution w/ Mario, Link and Metroid, etc... PS3 having GTA, GT and MGS ... Xbox w/ Halo. Conclusion: the real winner here is not one comany or platform, but the consumer. Three different companies each trying to outdo each other on the next-gen and future-gen consoles...and thriving from healthy competition. That's what's its about *cough* EA *cough*

I don't think the PS3 graphics look all that better than the Xbox 360...

I'm hoping to see more from Sony on the other features, the console so far is pretty solid

(I'll probably end up getting both..which I hate)

The difference in graphics isn't going to be big enough to alter fanboys' opinions on either side. Their still going to buy whatever console their sided with in most cases unless they just can't wait till 2006 to have their next gen console. All the MS ass-kissers are going to buy xbox and the sony sluts are going to buy playstation 3. Then, you have your ass-kissing sluts who get off on two instead of one. Oops...I forgot about the Nintendo nimphos. :D

Actually the general rule is most 'real' gamers just want to play a good game, and it's the mainstream, 'casual' crowd that drives most of the money (and crappy games) - the type that an MTV special would be aimed at.

A 'real' gamer would be just as able to play a GTA as a Mario game as a Halo game. And would more than likely have more than one system - not be a fanboy of only one, and would never, ever, ever use the phrase 'kiddie' or 'mature' when describing video games.

God, Sony is so full of sh*t, claiming the PS3 is 35 times more powerful than the PS2. Same goes for Microsoft with the 13 to 15 times claim.

    hey rckola (or anyone);

anyone been able to get a ballpark figure on the next-gen game prices?

heard it was $70'ish a while back (mainly for the xbox, but what about ps3/revolution?)......although....not real sure what the speculative prices are now.

I watched g4 just now. PS3 destroyed x-box 360. If I had to choose there would be no doubt. PS3. It wasn't even close and I own x-box. Kill zone was pretty damn awesome. The racing games look fun and I don't play racing games.

x-box 360 looked like x-box if you ask me. No different in terms of game play.

thats the thing, PS2 didnt really have any games that were graphically beautiful which is why of course they are going to have something better. Xbox is just showing what the first generation titles can do now and who knows what it can do later. Still, I dont see why Killzone is so great people. I thought it was "ok", hell I thought Gears of War was much better and I havent even seen any gameplay.

Its too early to tell who has won in terms of games, but the rest of the week should give gamers ideas on how each system will pan out

and for the record, I am an XBox fanboy :p
