Right now they are in a group with 3 other teams, they play each team home and away and the two teams with the best record advance. Before tonights game they were 2 points behind Firpo, if they would have lost they would be 5 points behind them and would have no chance to advance. As it stands now we're still 2 points back and a win against them at home will send us to the next stage, if we would have won tonight we'd be ahead of them and would only need a draw in the next game. I'm not a big fan of sending the reserve team but they did what they had to do and now they just have to win at home.
I agree 100%. I was a doubter until I went and filmed a game for the team during the inaugural season and that converted me. The Orange are the one team besides the Rockets that have had any success recently and if more people would try it out, they'd love them. Really community-oriented and winners on the field, to boot. Let's get 30,000+ for the games again!
Disappointing to give away 2 points in the last 5 minutes. Hopefully we will be in a position to field our front liners at home and get the win. Am concerned about the playoff game on that arena soccer turf they have in NY. We have more talent than the Red Bulls, but that turf gives them WIIINNGS
It's game day! Does anybody know whether or not this will be aired online via JustinTV or something similar?
http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=22594&part=sports There's a list of possible streams. Luckily I have MLSLive.tv so I can watch it there.
0-0 at the half. Solid first half for the Dynamo, I'd say. If the Dynamo come out of New York down a goal or less I'd say the path is paved for a trip to the MLS Cup.
I thought maybe it was blacked out or something. Good thing I checked back. Damn down 0-1. They're looking shaky on D.
Golasooooooooooo Dynamo!!!! it's a 2 game aggregate series with whoever has the most goals advances. Don't think it's like Eufa champions league where away goals count as more.
each team gets to play once at home. If they are tied after completion of full time in the 2nd leg, then overtime and if still tied, penalty kicks.
So, if a team wins like 5-0 in the 1st game, they would have to lose by more than 5 goals in the 2nd game? What happens if the teams score the same number of goals after 2 games?
It varies from competitions. But I think MLS does not use the away goal rule. But if they are tied after the 2nd game (full time), then they immediately play overtime. Then penalty kicks afterwards if it is still tied.
Thanks, I think I get it as long as "tied after the 2nd game" means the same number of aggregate goals.
yes, BUT I'm not sure if MLS uses the away goal tie breaker, which means that away goals count twice.
On the Dynamo website is shows only 11,578 fans showed up for a playoff matchup with the defending champs in NY! Looking over our just regular season games against MLS teams (not any other tournament games) our lowest total was against Chivas USA with 10,908. This was the only total less than what NY fans just did for a PLAYOFF game. I'm proud of the Dynamo and the fans, I gotta find a way to put them in my sig! DART maybe?
