the only good thing is that james sounds like he could be pretty good this was only his first year and they have alot of flexibilty now wit their money since contracts are small in the MLS compared to other sports

First of all, let me just say I don't agree totally with this move, but we can be optimistic this gets us a better position to bring some players this off-season and international stars.

This is a move DeRosario wanted a while back... and it's OK for the Dynamo. I think we've squeezed as much juice out of him as possible, even though he's at his best probably more than other players.

I think we may see a MEXICAN player finally arriving in Houston. Although it may NOT be a smart play in terms of competition, it would be a good marketing tool. I would welcome any International player as long as he's not troublesome or a Prima Donna.

1560 has a soccer show that comes on at 7:00 on Mondays, they'll be talking about this trade today if you want some more discussion on it or to share your view. It's an entertaining show, if you like the Dynamo or soccer in general you should check it out.

I thought Holden was just waiting out his current contract and would be gone as soon as it was over but it looks like the Dynamo are trying using some of the DeRo money to sign him to a long term deal. I really hope they can work something out, he's going to be a great player for a long time. If they could also hold onto Boswell with some of that money it would make me feel a lot better about the trade.

You're right, that would be *fantastic* marketing. Imagine if the Astros had had Fernando Valenzuela back in the day.

To be honest I don't think money is that big an issue to Stu. His main concern has been with PT and this just sorted it out for him. He gets to remain in Houston for a few more years, have his folks around him and show that he can control a team from his preferred AM spot. He played AM at Clemson but ever since he broke into the US U-20s, he hasn't played in the position much.
I think he'll do well especially because he's a smart player, knows when to go w/ quick touches and when to take longer on the ball. He's not the type to piss of folk by selfishly holding onto the ball and trying to take on 5 defenders.

My main concern apart from GK are the outside back positions. The team has no solid replacements in either of the three positions.

Dom was on Glenn Davis' show last night and said that they've been talking to Luis Angel Landin and that there was interest from both sides. If we could manage to get him it would be a huge addition.

No sarcasm in the least; I meant exactly what I said. It would be fantastic marketing to add a Mexican player (a good one) to the Dynamo. It has nothing to do with "race" and everything to do with nationalism, or heritage, or whatever you want to call it. Just like the Rockets have benefited so much internationally and in the local asian community by adding Yao. A majority of Houston's and SE Texas's *huge* hispanic community is Mexican; they would feel an instant connection with the Dynamo; I think. Am I wrong? I certainly didn't intend any disrespect.

Do you remember Fernando Valenzuela? Do you remember all the Mexico flags being waved in the 'Dome every time he pitched? Man, imagine if he had been an *Astro*. Houston may have become a baseball town fifteen years before it finally did.

thats just a low blow... don't even get me started on how jazz flopped their way into winning and how cubes paid his way into victory

    Excuses.

The Jazz won because Yao was soft. Remember Clutch's recap saying something about "imagine a pink bunny jumping up and down" or something; that's how brutally Yao got absolutely used by Boozer. He needs to roll into Utah this year and absolutely kick ass instead of being shoved around, out-positioned, out-jumped, and flat-out out-played. Boozer is just plain stronger and better than Yao.

As a Rockets fan, I want to see Yao:
    a) stay healthy
    b) get stronger than Boozer

    Go Dynamo!
