I appreciate Kelly's take on basketball and I know these "best of" lists are tough. The problem is there should be some rules for his lists. I know this is all subjective but it's hard to find consistency when Karl Malone played less than half of this decade and was a shell of himself when he did and yet he makes the PF list while Amare Stoudemire didn't even crack the top ten despite him playing almost this entire decade.

There should be some rules here. To make one of these lists the guy needs to have played at least 6 years out of the last 10. He had to have played at least 75% of his minutes at the position he is being listed at. Those are just some examples but it would make it a lot easier to figure out why he chose these guys and why he omitted others on his lists if he did something like that.

He categorized Amare as a C for these lists.

Jermaine O'Neal at #5?! I understand trying to provoke a reaction with lists like this but stuff like that will just make people think Dwyer has Mad Cow Disease or something.

There's no way in f'n hell Ilgauskas is a better canter than Yao! I'll take Yao's worst year over Ilgauska's best year any day. Plus, the idiot said Yao hasn't played more than 57 games in a season. Last year, he played 77. Duncan, Jermaine O'Neal and Amare all play power forwards!

    I second that.

It's a judgement call to say DHo and Amare are better than Yao at center. But Wallace and Jermaine are not even close to Yao. Yao would eat them alive one on one.

Also, I would put Shaq over TD on this list. Again, it's close so it's a judgement call.

I think Kelly must have received a max contract from Yahoo so he is just mailing it in now. Research be damned. He's just having his buddies rattle of the names of NBA players and he is putting them on his list and then writing up some BS to justify his opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if alcohol and/or weed was involved in the writing process for these articles. :D

I think of all of his lists kinda suffer from the fact that half the time, the player positions are way too thought out.

Like Duncan at C because he plays in the low post...just leave him at PF, everyone knows he's the greatest PF of all time.

I actually agree with Dwyer in that respect. The argument that he's a center is far more persuasive than then argument that he's a pf.

20 game penalty for not completing the playoffs and missing the entire following season? Sounds fair to me.

The primary argument that he's a PF ("everyone knows he's a PF!") isn't really an argument.

If I'm Duncan I'm calling Kelly right now. All this "Duncan's really a C" talk is going to mess up his legacy. :D

I would much rather be the greatest PF of all time instead of being the 6th, 7th, or 8th best Center of all time.

I honestly don't understand how Big Z, who I respect as he is a good center, can be above Yao. Hell, I can't see how O'Neal or Wallace are above him. I guess I could see Stoudemire being above him.

Freakin ridiculous. Howard just became a better player lately. Overrated!

Yao should be top 5 that's for sure. I dislike you Kelly D. Your reasoning for leaving Yao out of the top 5 is stupid.

amare isn't even a true center. he's only a part-time. same to JO.
no matter how you compare. big Z will never be above Yao.
    this list failed.

Missing the entire NEXT season is irrelevant since next season will be 09-10, the start of the new decade. And since when is Yao the only one to get injured, regular season or in the playoffs? Duncan missed the entire 00 playoffs. Shaq has missed 20+ games in the last few years. J. O'Neal is hurt more than Yao, Amare's missed almost an entire season (79 in 06) as well as Ilgauskas. Why is Yao the only one that's seemingly penalized for this?

I think decade you can't say shaq has been better. He had 2-3 godly years in this decade.
