After the Lakers sign Aldridge, Wade will follow. Gabrielle Union is in LA and maybe he can get into the next "Think Like a Man" sequel.
Funny that Wade sold Lebron to MIA saying that the Heat were loyal to their players. Now Wade himself is disproving that by leaving. Riley really messed up by offering Bosh that massive contract. Bosh should have been a Rocket last year ...
Well his lung clots would have been an issue regardless right? Assuming that was a medical condition completely unrelated to geographical or on-court play issues, then we wouldn't have signed Josh Smith nor likely have absorbed Brewer's salary if only because Les may not have wanted to pay any more money out. I think it all worked out in the end.

Something I read on another forum: Okay, so let's say Miami tells Wade to go and try to find the best deal in the open market. Bucks offer say 3 years $35M. Miami can then say, we'll give you 3 years $35M + $6.5M to compensate you for the salary you've sacrificed for those championship years and we'll give you the whole Alonzo Mourning treatment after you retire. If Wade were to turn down that deal and sign for less money purely out of spite then Miami fans would be less inclined to revolt and Riley comes out looking like a victim of circumstance. Miami's rep isn't irreparably damaged.
Captain Obvious strikes again! Who would want to pay a past his prime player with a history of injuries that can only give you 60% of a season? 1. Miami 2. A team so desperate to make the playoffs that they would sacrifice their caproom to make that "name" acquisition. Unfortunately for Wade, #2 is also #1

Those numbers in your quote don't really catch it all. Wade was on a max deal when the Big 3 came to Miami, and he could have signed a 5 year max with 7.5% salary escalations each year. He would have been in the 18-25m range throughout that contract, so taking only 14.2m was effectively giving up about 4-9m per year for 4 years. His losses are HUGE in that regard, but that's what happens when you sacrifice to get a ring. It was impossible for the Heat to sign all 3 to true max contracts, so they had to collude with Riley to make it work.
Can't for the life of me understand why the Heat are on Dirants list. It only works if once again Wade takes an enormous pay cut. Whiteside isn't. And Durant isn't - or at least not a very big one. I count zero on Chris Bosh. So the Heat with no Whiteside? Who are their bigs? Or the Heat with no Wade? Cmon. Plus it's exactly copying Lebron.
