The comment about age and health issues is the biggest thing. Because otherwise, that starting 5 absolutely could get to the EFC, imo. But they're all too old, or too injured, for that to matter. I mean you can see Riley's "plan"... but you could also just as easily see how it could fail, starting with the Bosh signing last year.
I would think they'd put Bosh on the market. Guess which team/GM is going to be the first one at their front door? bosh2houston.com
Report: Dwyane Wade's trust in Miami is damaged Dwyane Wade’s trust in the Heat has been damaged by their stance in contract negotiations, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. This report adds a friend of Wade has described him as "pissed" and not feeling like a priority to the organization. Earlier today, ESPN reported the Lakers, Clippers and Cavs could have interest in Wade. Free agency starts next week and Wade figures to be one of the main stories in what figures to be a relatively quiet free agency period. Deng not opting in for the $10M or so he'd get? That's interesting. I'm very curious what his market value is right now. I think last year showed that his Chicago bull days are fully behind him. I doubt very much he could get any deal for more than $10M a year but perhaps if he can snatch up a multi-year $7M per year it would be worth it. Personally I believe Ariza > Deng right now (esp going forward) and we're only paying him $8M on average. As someone who wouldn't mind seeing Miami struggle after their 4 finals appearances in a row. I'm not sure what would be more dehabilitating to their franchise. Overpaying Wade, Deng, Dragic and collapsing due to injury or Wade going to the Cavs, Deng leaving for somewhere else and them having to rebuild all over again.

Very interesting (and I guess, telling?) that Wade won't pick up his option with the Heat. What team would be the best fit for Wade?
No team can move forward paying Wade $20M/year. Maybe some team stupidly overpays but it won't be a move in the right direction. LA already has Kobe and now Russell, Wade would just take away from those guys. Knicks are reportedly going after other guys like Monroe, maybe Butler. But there are a slew of teams that would love to have Wade come off the bench or play around 25 mins a game in a Manu Ginobli role for Manu type money. The problem is that Miami is one of those teams and wouldn't be a bad situation for him.
I really don't think any team will pay Wade more than Miami. My guess right now is if he leaves the Heat, it will be out of disgust because of their "lack of respect".
