Here's what you're forgetting: Shaq can't win jack without an all-star caliber swingman at his side. He needs someone to take the shots for him late in the 4th quarter, so that he doesn't embarrass himself at the FT line and cost his team the game. The edge that Shaquille has is that you can usually find six or seven championship level guards in the league at any time, while there's only one Shaq Diesel. But make no mistake; as dominant as he is, Shaq isn't like Hakeem. Because of his inability to get the job done offensively in late game situations, Shaq will always need a top guard playing alongside him to take over in crunch time.

Very well said. Puts it in perspective. I'll add that Wade was a "winner" in the playoffs last year as a rookie WITHOUT Shaq. The Shaq theft (yes, theft) changed the Heat from a winner/borderline contender to a championship favorite because the Lakers were too stupid to demand Wade from the Heat to complete the trade. This is also why the Lakers were left in ruins, as tigermission1 says. The reason the Magic were left in ruins years ago is because they let Shaq walk without getting anything. Same here. We would have never traded Francis, nor needed to, if he played like Wade. I always kept expecting Francis to improve each year, but he just never really got much better than when he entered the league.
Dwayne Wade's game reminds me of Michael Jordan's early days in the league. I'm not saying that he'll be as good as MJ, but his game really resembles Jordan's game in his early years more than anyone else in the league.
How come no one complains about Wade's TO's. He leads the league in TO's. That might start to get on my nerves if he continues to do it after his sophomore year but I guess his positives outweigh the bad by a bigger margin then Francis' did. I know I'm not complaining on my fantasy team . At least wade plays good defense. Even better help defense.
