I got carried away with Laker hate, but I'll elaborate on bolded statement.

A better way to frame my argument would be, we can't control what the Magic want, or do. Granted, there are reports about exactly what the Magic want, but I'm taking an extremely vague view on this.

The Magic could get stupid at anytime and defy logic (which in this case is taking what the Rockets have to offer, since it's evidently the best on the table).

Forget about Howard, let's move on and play young drafts with Jeremy Lin at PG. We will have a fun and exciting 2012-2013 season.

And we can't offer anyone as good as Bynum. And we aren't going to take all of Orlando's crappy contracts and give them all of our good young talent and draft picks.

If LA takes Duhon and JRich and we take Turk and QRich, that knocks all of Orlando's bad deals off the books except for Big Baby. That decreases the amount of talent we need to send back to Orlando to beat a potential offer from Cleveland.

If our front office decides that they'd rather gamble on Bynum's knees and give up fewer assets, as opposed to rolling the dice and praying that Dwight re-signs, I won't hold it against them. Right now it would be my preference to get Dwight, but I'm coming around on the idea of grabbing Bynum instead.

True but the funny thing is "reports" (Bucher) say he doesn't want to be in LA because Kobe is the guy and DH12 wants to be the guy... lol...plus he wants to "start his own legacy."

DH12 - More like Iron(ic) Man instead of SuperMan

He doesn't think he can win because he is not a winner. He is a wiener.

Brooks was never going to Orlando, he was going to the third team.

So really the offer has to beat Maxed out Lopez and three end of the 1st round picks.

Based on Les' and Morey's comments, and reports from Feigan are that this is the plan for now. They have made an offer they can live with, and its up to Hennigan now to make the decision he can live with the best.

Right now, they are probably prepparing to go into next season with this youth movement, but if Hennigan comes back to the Rockets you have to still be open to a deal if it works for the team.

One things for sure is that they are in no way as desperate as they were 6 months ago for a star it seems.

-Of course, I remember a time years ago when I finally had given up on dating, and was completely fine being a life long bachelor. Right then, when everything seemed great my soon to be wife came around and changed my life plans for me.

Sometimes things just happen and you really cant reject it if it makes sense in the end. At this point, whatever happens, happens. I think the Rockets are going to be an intriguing team either way.

We all know people who can not make decisions on their own. I believe Dwight is like this and all of his indecision is due to his agent telling him one thing and his friends saying another. If his agent and entourage ever agree on a destination, Dwight will go wherever he's told.

One thing is absolutely apparent.... Dwight Howard is not a winner and does not posses the heart to win. You see this more and more and more these days, these so-called superstars who want to go to a team that is in position of winning instead of driving themselves and others around them to to win.

The only time Hakeem Olajuwon thought about leaving the Rox was when he felt he wasn't getting far market value in his negotiations. The Rox quickly mended fences and we won two championships with what the media called "the worse championship team ever." Why? Because Olajuwon led the team to the promise land. The one year that he played in Toronto is irrelevant.

Most don't even remember that Michael Jordan's first years were on a mediocre team that couldn't get past the "Bad Boys" in Detroit.

They both stuck with their teams and the rest is history.

So, I am to the point that I don't even care if he comes here or not. I'd rather keep the young talent we have and if that means we have a bad season, so be it.

All I would hope for Howard is that he shuts his mouth, show some nuts and play ball. Cause the only thing he has proven thus far in his career is that has a mouth.

I think they think that they can flip maxed-out Lopez for more stuff.

To me this actually bodes well for the Rockets’ chances. I wasn’t sure if Dwight’s negativity regarding Houston was about the city itself or the coach or being compared to Hakeem but if it’s about winning, Morey and Les actually have a very simple solution: bring in more talent. I think they are halfway there by not giving up on Dwight despite all indications saying he won’t end up here or if he does, will leave next year (Morey knows Howard is almost certainly bluffing but it’s still a gamble they are taking on him). With an ego the size of Dwight’s and with how disrespected he feels by Orlando, having a team go all in on him like this has to mean something to him.

It’s time to lower the bar for NBA superstars. The “I’ll put the team on my back and carry us to a Championship” mentality is all but dead (and in this era of “super friends” teams it probably should be).

We should celebrate this news because it represents a problem the Rockets can and will correct once Dwight is here.
