he had Kobe on his team, I don't care who plays for LA (including Howard) Kobe is gonna get most of the shots.. Bynum runs circles around Pau GaBITCH... Bynum has a better offensive game then Howard, he can do more than catch lobs. He is THE 2nd best center in the game, and if he is willing to actually sign after the year with Houston, I am all for it!!!

It'll be a STEAL for Orlando if they get Parson and all our Rookies.

Jim Buss: There are some things pending. (Dwight? Seems doubtful right now. Jamison and Jermaine O'Neal?)

Not knowing the specifics of the packages it would take to get either of these guys severely limits which I'd prefer. All things being even, of course you take Howard, only a fool wouldn't. That being said, there is something to be said for getting the second best center in the league and not having to gut your roster to do it.

I guess, gun to my head, I'd still prefer going all in for Howard, but of it turned out we gave up a LOT less and got Bynum I think I'd be pretty damned happy!

The Bynum option is great, he is very young and still the 2nd best center in the league and he will resign in houston.

But the Howard option is glorius. Maybe a top 3 player in the league. And Howard is very young too. With luck we fill the C position for 10 years with the best C in the league.

Morey will never give Howard to LA for peanuts
He will go for all the glory.

I wonder if Morey will wait until Asik is matched/not matched or just go ahead and make the Howard deal. He may operate under the assumption that Asik will not be matched. It seems like a pretty bad contract if you're Chicago.

No. Is it worth holding on to non contributors if it meant not landing a superstar?

I don't give a f**k about the name on the front of the jersey, all I care about is the name on the back, and I want it to say "Howard"

Los Angeles Lakers officials continue to speak with the Orlando Magic about a possible Dwight Howard trade, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

A deal did not appear imminent, but conversations between the Lakers and Magic have become more frequent in recent days, sources said. A number of obstacles need to be resolved, including the Lakers' desire for Howard to commit to a long-term extension with them. Howard has warmed to the possibility of joining the Lakers after spending his offseason in Los Angeles, sources said, but remains apprehensive about following in the footsteps of Shaquille O'Neal, who left the Magic for Los Angeles 16 years ago.

The Magic also are seeking draft picks – in addition to Lakers center Andrew Bynum – as part of a package for Howard. The Lakers have already sent their 2013 and '15 first-round picks to the Phoenix Suns as part of their sign-and-trade deal for Steve Nash. NBA rules forbid teams from trading first-round picks in consecutive years.

The Houston Rockets, who have made several roster moves this summer to position themselves for a potential Howard trade, also have continued to talk to the Magic.

Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak and coach Mike Brown watched free-agent forward Jermaine O'Neal work out in Las Vegas on Tuesday, but no offer was made. Sources said the Lakers could sign Jermaine O'Neal and free-agent forward Antawn Jamison to veteran minimum contracts.

If it wasn't obvious, our main competition for DH next summer is ATL:
    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...-hawks-dwight-howard/index.html?sct=nba_wr_a1

Hakeem said that Dwight told him a place he wants to go, and it wasn't Brooklyn. I'm guessing it's ATL. DH seems to shy away from organization with history of accomplished big men (HOU - Hakeem, LA - Shaq and more). Question is, is the prospect of Lin and the team form around Howard, and 30 mil extra dollars, enough to keep him from his home town?

I hope it's Atlanta. That city is a lot like Houston, and we have 30 million extra to give him

I'd rather go with the rookies at this point. Jeremy Lamb has the potential to be a star. Plus, Jeremy Lin has the potential to be a star too. Let's build around the young guys the way OKC built their team. We don't need the Dwightmarish drama.
