That DM from Dwight is his attempt at saving face too. And screwing over the magic at the same time. They really hate each other

The guy who leaked it was probably told by Dwight to leak it

if this is real intel and not made up, I guarantee you Morey will find out about it...heck, i wouldn't be surprised if they have a drone flying over the Magic HQ spying on their internal deliberations.

Morey is all ABOUT opposition research, he'll respond accordingly (by making a super low-ball offer :cool:)

That is the one that they don't want.

If the Rockets end up with Lin and Asik, they could send Martin, Morris, PPat and Lamb to Orlando with picks. I'm a little fuzzy with how the salary matching works now, but if they take back Howard, JRich, Redick an Duhon, they could still sign another max player next year. I believe Turkoglu would nix that plan.

Well Broussard didn't dismiss the notion of Howard to Rockets on PTI, but he did bash Lin a good bit though.

I seriously doubt Dwight said anything in those DMs that Dwight hasn't already expressed to the Magic brass. Don't know why any of you think this changes any sort of leverage. The Magic will keep Dwight before they accept a crap offer.

Turk has a buyout next season. Same with Duhon.

It changes leverage because now that same internal conversation is essentially out in public. Private things turning public=more leverage for us

I'm just glad that Dwight alleviated all of our concerns and confirmed that "there is no ******* in him". I guess that means he will re-sign with us if we trade for him. Joy.

So that wasn't a public tweet by Howard, just a personal message to somebody?:confused::confused:

Guy on the Magic board who claims to be in talks with Dwight says that Dwight is going to release a statement soon.

They have less leverage, no question at all. Teams now know that:

    1. They don't have to worry at all about him resigning in Orlando. They either trade him or get nothing.
    2. He's still injured pretty badly. Players that can't run and are questionable for the start of next season have lower trade value, period.

Morey has probably already sent a fruit basket to this Markee guy.

because who would gut their roster or pay a high price for an injured player that could bail in the following year?

Remember, part of Morey's strategy is to CONVINCE Dwight to stay in Houston by surrounding him with his buddies, introducing him to Houston etc. If Dwight is in fact more injured than let on and could sit for part or all of the season, he won't be sitting in Houston.

This also decreases the chance that any other team will come with an offer and be competition to Houston. You are right, Orlando COULD keep Dwight but he is a) a huge distration and b) they want to get something for him rather than let him just walk.

If I'm Houston, I look carefully at his health records and prognosis. His price just dropped.

If you think Morey was going in blind about Howard's physical condition...then you are wrong....I hope.

I like the way you wrote, "in talks with Dwight." No hate.

After so much of following different media guys who use terms like that, it just made me laugh.

    Thanks. :)

Doubt he would go in blind, but I don't know what kind of access he'd have to Dwight and what the Magic would tell him. ("Hey Dwight even though you don't want to play for us at all let's check out that back")

I could be wrong and they could have already run a full physical on him or have received full med reports from the Magic, hell...

I don't think anyone but Dwight and his doctors/people know when he plans on playing. He said in those DM's that Orlando hasn't even talked to his doctors. Lol. If you can believe that.

And that "in talks with Dwight" guy is apparently someone on the Magic board who has been feeding them "insider" info for a long time, and I believe he was right on the injury+organization relations stuff so he might not be making it u
