That article is hilarious. He has Cleveland unwilling to trade Dion Waiters but has us willing to trade Parsons, Dmo, and Lamb. Regardless of whether there is even a shred of truth in that article, all 3 of our players are already better than that reach of a pick in Waiters.

We only had to waive players to make room for Asik. He's already on our books right now.

I don't think even the biggest homer would put him at 60% of returning to us. If anything he would demand a sign and trade. Which would result in some circus show of an off season.

I don't think 50-50's unreasonable, theres a chance he likes Houston once he gets here and an extra 30 mill.

60/40 is the way I'd value it for trade evaluation purposes; though the relative values are subjective anyway .

    BINGO.

Lakers want Dwight for the short and long term.
Long term Dwight will be very important so they don't have a long gap between championship teams. All of the Laker contracts come off their books in 2 years. Who is going to attract more star players to LA in 2014 and beyond...Bynum or Dwight?

With the new CBA rules this is their last chance to acquire a young superstar until Kobe and the rest of their older guys retire.

The problem is that if we get Dwight, we will spend the whole year speculating whether or not he will stay. Everything he says will result in a new thread and we will analyze every word as if it were a post from Doc Rocket.

No, all they have to do is officially announce that they won't match, and that's that, no deadline needed.

Agreed they are subjective. Not sure why I bothered putting a numerical value on them when I should've just said 'Not happening vs incredibly small chance of happening'.

Clutch thinks himself that Dwight opted in last deadline solely because he didn't want to come to Houston. Why would he resign with us?

Cleveland has said that it wont trade Waiters...on the other hand, Morey will move any piece in order to obtain Dwight.

The Rockets will make it abundantly clear to him that no sign & trade to any large market will happen because they have nothing we want more than flexibility and the ability to rebuild should Dwight leave. Morey wouldn't make the trade if he didn't plan to call Dwight's bluff.

Dwight is going to be faced with walking to DAL/ATL and leaving $30M on the table. What would you choose?

I give it a 40% chance he walks just because of being pissed off at the Rockets for playing hardball with him. I think the Rockets can minimize hurt feelings if they play things right and approach him in the right way, but you can never truly predict human emotion.

60% chance he stays because everything says he should stay instead of playing in Dallas or Atlanta. Basketball situation, market, the contract he will be offered, the amount of investment the Rockets will have made in him proving that they REALLY REALLY want him... more investment than any other team and without a guarantee that he'll re-sign. Players aren't immune to this stuff, they're constantly thinking about how much their organization values them. Huge ego-boost for Dwight that the Rockets have done what they have, just for a chance to get and keep him.

...Are we still able to sign Llull after the Howard trade in case we lose Lamb.

If we don't agree to a SnT and by some miracle he isn't as spiteful as he has made himself seem for the past year and does resign with us, he's going to be pretty disgruntled.

Has that ever happened in the history of the NBA?

That's funny because numerous Lakers fans on their forums have had the thinking that Dwight didn't want to come to L.A. which is the reason for him opting in. The point is, we don't really know for sure so it's hard to make the claim you are making.
