One piece of this rumor on Orlando board is in contradiction of something that Clutch passed on to some of us in Vegas.

This. Richardson is still a good player. I just can't see Dwight leaving next year. Would he really leave 30 million on the table to move to Dallas? Where else would he go?

Team would look like this going into training camp (barring other moves):

    Lin/Douglas
    Richardson/Zoran(?)
    Parsons/White
Patterson/Jones (could reverse itself pretty quickly if Jones establishes fast like Parsons)
    Howard/Asik

I don't think that's QUITE a championship contender but I think it's a surefire playoff team barring injury.

This trade is crap for a one year rental. Look Orlando, you can have Lamb but we keep Monti. You can't have both unless we get an extension on Howard. You guys shouldn't have dragged your feet until Dwight totally killed any trade value he had left. The Nets/Lakers have crap to offer now that they have used up all their cap space and their assets blow chunks.

We better not be giving DMo, who would be ideal next to Dwight. Lamb, is a potentially elite scorer but those are easier to replace. You can have Lamb, picks, cap relief and a couple other pieces for a RENTAL of Dwight. You want more? Make sure he signs an extension. In the meantime your leverage is crap and if you decide to keep him for next season whatever team you trade him to will give you even less because they won't have bird rights and nothing to up the offer from whatever team he chooses to go to. The longer you keep him the less you'll get.

If Morey gives up DMo for Dwight along with everything else they are asking just for a RENTAL then Morey would have been raped on this trade. It better not be happening.

We need to make a move for Howard. Rookies will not get any respect in this league when they started out and they're going to get owned by veteran teams. So getting a veteran All-Star player like Howard will help anchor that load. It's okay to give away one of our promising rookies....that's it no more. Absorb Orlando's contract and give them a couple more 1st rounder plus Martin.

Or we can go after Bynum...he's younger (fit in w/ the rookies) and a better free throw shooter. Even if Howard or Bynum explore free agency next year, we can give them a lot of money. Plus, in history, players tend to resign w/ team they play with before after they're getting used to them.

No, just no I wouldn't Stu Bronsilino. I mean Motiejunas and Lamb significantly out played their peers, some of whom were drafted well ahead of them. These two are very talented rookies. Top 10 in their class respectively. Not to mention Dwight is being traded with ONE YEAR left on his contract. So the risk of him walking is too high for us to give such significant pieces.

Additionally Orlando isn't in position to ask for anything. As it stands right now, they either take our minimum offer or they start the season with Dwight on the roster and watch his value diminish.

Also despite how some of these poster's sound (OremLK, Spooner, jopatmac), the Rockets Front Office itself isn't desperate for Dwight. If push comes to shove we can always walk away from the table. Because if you haven't noticed were in a great position to rebuild with our young talent and draft picks.

Dwight has no ties to Atlanta any longer and hasn't been back since High School. This doesn't mean he wouldn't be open to going there. Just heard in an interview years ago, he didn't really want to go back to Atlanta.

Dwight has said numerous, numerous times that he doesn't want anything to do with Atlanta. Why would he leave 30 million dollars on the table to go to a place he doesn't want to be?

Well its his hometown he might be open to it, i guess the same thing can be said about Houston since he seems to make attempts to not want to come here

If we trade for him, his incentive to stay is the money. Why would he sacrifice 30 million dollars to go somewhere he doesn't want to be?
