I asked this question in a previous thread and I think if you cant get CP3 you look at upgrading the 4 spot.....although both Monte and TRob(albeit all three /Jones) have huge upside , you cant ignore a proven player like Milsap,LMA or even Smith ...for the right price ofcourse.

Just know that Morey has the Rockets in the driver seat in any situation and if not this coming FA season the next will be something to look forward to in 2014....

I can ignore Milsap, LMA isn't available and I wouldn't trade away valuable players to get him even if he were, and I don't want Josh Smith at all.

Plus it kills me to let Asik go for Howard when he is develooping into one of the best centers in the NBA....with that contract, potential and his youth!!!!!The sky is the limit and as stated before a legit proven 4 (LMA,Milsap,West....Smith??) will be more welcome than a 5 or a 1.I think we are set ,atleast until the end of next season...

I could be wrong but i feel D.Howard will take L.A.,Bronx THEN HOUSTON...in that order

Why Let Asik go? We're talking about just signing Howard, the Rockets wouldn't have to give up anything really. Start Howard and have Asik beast off the bench....why not?

I want to know which team wins a championship with an elite PG and SG on the same team. If you have an elite SG already on team, you need to get an elite big man. Doesn't matter if it's the C or the PF. If you can't get them or even an elite wing, then you sign a CP3. Problem is you're negating one's playmaking ability if you have two elite ball-handlers.

It's not hard to understand, people.

Every position, but SG, is the weakest. PF had young guys that have a good chance to have one become a near all star. C had Asik. SF has Parsons. PG had Lin.

I think the Rockets get Howard, Millsap, Smith, or Iguodala.

No.....you cant ignore Milsap .......Not when he is better than any PF on our current roster and LMA is the same:eek:...I like West also but I dont think he is better than LMA ,which can be had for the right price....

Seeing that we can sign Howard out right and persue LMA with Asik being the headliner...anything is possible.....

    Lin
    Harden
    Parson
    LMA (trade for)
    Howard (sign)

Of those, I'd only want Howard or Iggy but the problem with getting Iggy would be that it would make Parsons a bench guy and I don't think they want to do that.

Actually I can ignore Milsap, the Rockets have 5 PF's on their roster right now, 2 of which I think have higher upsides than Milsap, why waste money on a position with that much depth already?

Perhaps, but would it matter if they were winning? Asik solidifies the defense when he's on the court, if Howard does that for the starters and Asik would be there for the backups you'd significantly improve the defense, since you can do it and be under the cap, who cares how much he makes?

Thats a though one. CP3 is clearly the better player with the better attitude. But our greatest strength is Harden with the ball in his hands - and with CP3 he would have to play off the ball more.

Dwight is great of defense and pretty good on offense. S far we have no two way bg man. Ad he clearly is the best center in the league. But his attitude and injury history is a concern.

In the end I'd be thrilled with both. If I'd have to take one I'd take Dwight. Simply to combine a star wing man with a star big man instead of pairing two star wing men together, that both play best with the ball in their hands...

I'd take either but we have no shot at Paul

Paul easily. Paul is one of those players that instantly makes any team a contender. I mean, look how crappy New Orleans got soon as he left and how great the Clippers became soon as he got traded. I just can't imagine him going to a team and them not doing well.

Plus you have issues with Dwight's attitude and injuries.

Paul's injury history and potential for his body to break down should be somewhat of a concern. If Dwight is healthy by July, he might be the safer bet.

CP3. We already have a good defensive anchor in Asik. Not that you are getting him mind you.

I know your new to basketball and all but yes Paul is miles better than Lin. Like the difference between the best Pg in the league and an average PG.

I am Chinese and I watched Linsanity when it started as a Knicks fan so you know my opinion is unbiased on this.

Just because you are Chinese doesn't necessary mean you are automatically unbiased. This team, at this piont in time, if you simply swap CP3 and Lin you are NOT going to be in any better position to grab that champtionship. What you need more on this team is defense and shot blocking...no point guard will EVER be an elite defender purely because of size. Also, with how the team is using Harden you are going to have some friction with CP3...you think CP3 will want to pass the ball to Harden for at least half the time and go sit by the corner? CP3 has a solid record but Lin's held his own playing against CP3, so CP3's better but not miles better.
