No one else is jumping all over this? "In theory, Turk could be an upgrade in D" Really? In Phoenix and in Toronto, so places without a Rim protector like say that D-12 guy, Turk was Statically worse on D then Budinger with a Defensive Win Share of .8 in toronto and a .4 in phoenix versus Chase's 1.2 and 1.2. Killing me. Fierguard Bleed Red Rockets Red.
Exactly, it's a decisive move since we whiffed on FAs and not in running for CP3 and Howard. It's not a full-tank move since Les wouldn't allow it but it does help now: evaluate young talent and later: keep our 2012 pick plus Orlandos future picks. For those whining about Hedo, the trade would reduce our salary for this year (which you don't personally pay for) and we could demand $3 million in cash for our troubles.
The problem is that nobody seems to be willing to trade picks without lottery protection attached to them. There's one pick floating around right now without lottery protection on it, Minnesota's pick they sent to the Clippers. And it's actually part of a pick swap with the Clippers pick to Boston.
Yeah, and it's become a major chip in the Chris Paul talks. To Orlando, the trade would be their best and last shot at having Dwight beyond this year. Idk how delusional they are but the right-now impact of the trade favors them enormously so we should receive compensation for it. And if they feel they will keep Dwight then what are 2 picks in the 20-30 range to them?
Turk, 3 years, stupid no, if were rebuilding no JJR, if were rebuilding no Orton, yes Duho, stupid no, if were rebuilding no picks, you cant give two in a row unless they have someone else first round pick Ryan Anderson, yes
So to modify trade based on feedback: Turk, JJ Reddick, Ryan Andersen, Chris Duhon, Rights to Fran Vasquez, $ 3mill in cash (possibly used to buyout / waive Duhon), 2012 2nd Round Pick, 2013 unprotected 1st Rounder, 2013 2nd Round Pick, 2014 Unprotected 1st Rounder FOR Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, Hasheem Thabeet, Goran Dragic You wouldn't want to do this trade?
Orlando can't trade back-to-back future 1st rounders. It would have to be their 2013 and 2015 picks. And, I don't much like the idea of giving Orlando a contender and then betting against them keeping Dwight Howard. Given that he's already wavering and they have the money advantage next offseason, I think the only thing that will drive him away is a bad supporting cast. I don't see them flaming out with a line-up of: Howard/Glen Davis Scola Richardson Martin/Von Wafer (lol) Nelson/Dragic In particular, I think a Howard-Martin tandem is lethal.
i never understand the point of threads like this.. i guess people want to talk about something, anything, so they make up some hypothetical trade that will never occur and everyone plays along.. ok.. lets do it.. pull the trigger OP...
