10 ppg??? Wtf are you people smoking? You guys do realize it's currently 2011, and 2012 is next year? He's putting up 25 ppg right now at 46% fg. Unless he gets injured big time, he won't drop 15 ppg over the span of 1-1.5 years.
Calm the hell down, that was a hyperbole. I'm trying emphasize my point on how ineffective a Kobe-Dwight tandem would be in the latter stages of Kobe's career.
I think 2012 Kobe can still average 18 a game. The guy puts in incredible effort in the offseason and will be in the league longer than many think.
I agree to some extent BUT if you think about it, the way to keep Kobe effective for longer is to turn him into the one thing that normally get's better late in careers - a spot up shooter. If Dwight develops into a legit always double team threat in the post(some teams won't double him now), then Kobe can stay productive longer into his career. Add a creator to that roster and Kobe will benefit even more. He may have some miles on his body, but Kobe has always been a guy who won't miss open jumpers. ...of course a lot of that success is dependent on Phil's coaching and I think that's the biggest threat to the future of the Lakers. If Phil leaves, they will likely take a noticeable step down in coaching AND I think Jerry Buss gives control of the team over to his son from Jeannie who isn't near as sharp as his sister...Mitch K. probably leaves in that transition too. As talented as the Lakers are on the court, their success over the last decade has even more to do with the infrastructure set up with the coach, GM, and the exec who keeps everyone happy.
Kobe working on Howard to L.A.? Impending 2012 free agent Dwight Howard explains how Kobe teased him all weekend about finding him a realtor in L.A. video: http://sports.yahoo.com/video/player/nba/24258868#nba/24258868
not sure if dwight should be talking about this especially orlando can still get to the ECF this year
I dont think he wants to be in Shaq's shadow...Can you imagine the taunts the Big Clover will do if he wnt to LA...But then again if Lebron can go to Miami, anything can happen...Dignity is not a prerequisite for greatness now-a-days anyhow....
