Honestly IF we get Dwight, I don't see our offense becoming too sophisticated due to McHale's "limitations". But that's not necessarily a bad thing. There will obviously be a lot more post-ups for Dwight, and therefore kick-outs. I think Lin especially likes feeding big men anyway and you need to keep Dwight happy with the touches. But just due to Dwight's hands and athleticism, we could run our same offense, and get 4-5 stickbacks/easy buckets more a game.
I don't see why some people object to running both.

He's not at the age, and with so many miles on him, where you see physical rejuvenation from one season to the next. Last season, he was always playing gingerly & didn't want to go all out. Mitch Kupchak said he could have taken the whole season off. Playing the whole season could not have been good for his back. Playing injured tends to make you worse. So I expect he will be the same physically & probably worse next season. Right now, the Rockets have 3 big men better athletically (running, jumping, quickness) than Howard: Asik, Jones, Robinson. Yes, Howard has the size and strength, but without those other things it doesn't do you no good.

The problem is that San Antonio have Duncan who can competently pass, makes less boneheaded plays, has happily deferred many of his offensive responsibilities and is reliable as a post-up option in most circumstances. Dwight is a super athlete but he is none of those things that make Duncan great.

Harden is also exceptional offensively but he doesn't have a mid-range game and he has had difficulty trying to adjust to coaching expectations and a team-oriented style of ball this season which indicates he may not have the mentality that is suitable for a Spurs system.

Lin can't play without the ball in his hands.

It's gonna be tough to convince Dwight that he will be getting the majority of his points from pick n rolls n put backs over post ups. But he has to given the abilities n quirks of Harden Lin n Parsons.

He said it himself he doesn't consider pick n roll points and put back points real because they are 'easy baskets'. There's an inside the nba talk about it which is interesting.

I just think his egos gonna be the problem again.

I agree Dwight is too much of a headcase and thinks he's got more offensive talent than he actually does.

If he was happy to take on a David Robinson, Dikembe Mutombo, Alonzo Mourning, Ben Wallace on steroids role than he'd be fantastic but he thinks he's a Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing, Yao type player who is a first option scorer.
