I think this is a bit of a "rose-colored glasses" view. "Spinning the wheels" seems like an accurate description of what the FO has been doing, but sometimes it feels like there is no direction (though that may not be the case). We've seen lateral moves made to acquire more assets every year, and all for what? To swing the contender-making deal right? And it hasn't worked out in a while. Though I understand it isn't all their fault, with the Gasol fiasco before last season and whatnot. But I think the mentality of building around players like Parsons, Dargic and Motiejunas will put us in the same trap as teams like Utah, Indianapolis, Denver, etc. They're all solid teams, but do you really think of them as legit contenders?
We don't have to sign Howard and then lose him in order to officially start rebuilding. We can forget about this player who doesn't want to be on our team, and start rebuilding now. Try and turn our draft picks into lottery picks, start planning for the future with players who are still hungry.
Not a threat...but if we get Dwight and give up a lot to get him and he stays only one season before fleeing to another team, then to hell with this team and their management. A franchise player is not a one-and-done season player. I will completely be done as a Rockets fan and will never watch another game as long as I remain alive. I just don't see how our management would ever fall into such a trap...even if we have a lot of picks and players at our disposal. And, all this "nothing to lose" crap talk is for total losers who don't know how to manage a team. I don't want to hear it.
I don't mean to be mean . . but what are the chances of Dwight just walking I would say slim and None. If he wants to leave . . WE WILL GET SOMETHING IN RETURN!! No way he leaves money on the table .. . if he leaves. .it will be SIGN AND TRADE Rocket River
