Dwight Howard would be the only guy I would ever consider if i had to trade Tim Duncan.. Simply put that boy is a BEAST!
You should have seen the block he did on Monte Ellis. Ellis jumped up and crashed into Howard trying to draw a foul. It was like watching someone run into a statue and crumple. Not only that, Howard cleanly snagged the ball out of the air (I believe one-handed). Fast break the other way.
Howard's "power forwards" are Turkey-Glue and Rashard Lewis. How much do you think they help Howard on defense? Not nearly as much as Hayes, Scola and Battier help Yao. Turkey-Glue and Rashard Lewis are both matador chickens who let Howard do all the work.
what do you mean by helping out? Dwight's PFs aren't even PF, Shard and Turkey are SF, Dwight is a 1 man show defensively and rebounding.
Truth. They provide nothing defensively to help DH defend the interior. That tells you simply, not that we didn't know already, how monstrous DH is. They do a hell of alot more to put the ball in the basket though than our PFs. This Magic style of ball will be interesting to watch in the postseason. This team should outscore their opponent on almost every night. They could easily rack up 55-60+ wins in the East, but they don't defend much and will probably run into trouble stopping a Lebron or a PP in a best-of-seven.
Before the season is over or in the playoffs, the softness of Turkey-Glue and Rashard on defense will bite them. As will their backcourt. I love watching the Magic play right now but they are not a championship contender.
