I said that the comments were derogatory because:

"...most of the coaches on the staff hate Howard and that they all think he's a "p***y". "

..which is derogatory. If someone were to acknowledge a person's contributions, I doubt those words would have been used.

For clarifications sake, my response in it's entirety wasn't meant for you alone which is why I didn't add address it solely to you. The portion about the knocks on Howard in regard to reactions to the recent losses is addressed to the knee-jerkers. So feel free to ignore that portion as it doesn't apply to your statement.

The rest is my response as to why I don't think Howard deserves the "hate" from some of the coaching staff. I get that he needs work on parts of his game but that statement, at least to me, is unwarranted.

What point did I miss and how did I blow it out of proportion? Did I misconstrue the language used?

    Again, vote Howard.

The comments and feelings are directly from some of coaches that work with Howard...therefore, nothing is being blown out of proportion because that is what it is...that's the current state of the feelings within members of the coaching staff. Just because some player has contributed significantly in some ways, doesnt make him immune to other criticism.

If I was on a team and the highest paid player comes out and admits to not trying...I think that player deserves some derogatory comments thrown his way. That doesnt mean the team doesnt need him...or that the team is better off without him...or whatever else you'd want to insinuate.

I think anyone will acknowledge the positive impact Howard has had on the team...but that's not the point of the comments made about him.

I don't think Dwight is the most enthusiatic athlete on the Rockets..... I'd give that award to Pat Beverley ............

Rockets are still saying game time decision tonight while Howard is saying he's out 10 days to be 100% for the playoffs. Goes right in line with what I've been told about him. He's extra precautionary while some, not all, of the coaches roll their eyes. There was a fight between two assistants over this.

Edit: not fist fight, but a shouting match.

Maybe dwight heard from one assistant that he "could" sit for a few games so that omer could get in playoff shape.

But i dont think dwight is bsing the injury as you put it. Being told to be extra careful/rest up for the playoffs and bsing an injury are two very different things.

I'm not putting it in my own words or shaping some story...I'm telling u what they think in their exact words. Howard is wanting rest, not bc he's injured, but bc he just wants to be 100%.

I'm for playing it safe. The playoffs are the most important thing, and full health is needed if we are going to make some noise. The coaches that think he should play need to go screw themselves.
