I find it kind of funny how he talks up what the Clippers are doing, as compared to the Lakers, acquiescing to a player on staff or roster. Let's look at the 4 conference finalists this year, what do they have in common? they don't do that ****, what about last year's? granted it's 2 of the same teams, but they didn't either... Are we seeing a pattern? No matter how great Lebron was, or Dwight pre injury was, the moment the player started trying to do that, it went downhill, fast.
Why can't Houston pitch the idea of signing Lebron or Bosh to Howard in 2014 my he mesh with Harden this coming season? LA is not the only franchise that can go at these dudes. Nash has two more years left play with Nash and Howard or play with Howard and Harden. I think Morey is smarter to sell him more than just playing with Harden.
I would take this with a grain of salt. He is in a power struggle with the current owners and GM and the article seems to be a way of saying that he knows how to get the most of DH and that if he were in control, DH would have more reason to sign with LAL.
Hey we're in the top 2 for a superstar's choice between one of the most historic teams and us.... what more can you ask for as? Other players will see this and probably say the same thing even if we do swing and miss on Dwight. I love this team.
Power struggle? The Lakers have nothing to do with Jackson and what he does no. They interviewed him for a job and went elsewhere.
The question Dwight has to be asking himself (if he cares about basketball) is if the Lakers can rebuild/reload in the next 2-3 years (while he is in his prime or close to it). I don't think they can and Dwight probably knows that.
Also, this is incorrect. Dwight obviously wanted to pave his own path and if it would have panned out his way he would be in Brooklyn now with his pal Deron. LA was just the other team that was there.... I really don't think LA is Dwight's FIRST choice, even now.
You, I, and a few others seem to be among the very few. Just think about it; we won't be breaking up our core to land that 2nd superstar within the first season of landing the 1st, the entire team will have a full offseason and training camp to work on playing as a team and adjusting to each others games, AND Dwight will be 2 years removed from his back surgery and just about near full health. In the end I have a feeling he'll end up in Rockets red.
