If Yao played like he did in that clip against Ratliff, he would be dominant.

He needs to use his height and size to punish everyone....

    Yao Mean !!!

Truly, it is. You can spot a lot of things in the video about Yao. While not remotely as quick as the Dream, he was quicker early in his career during his first 3 seasons, compared to later. And what really jumps out, and this is something I expect Adelman to key on this season with Yao, is that unlike Hakeem, with his unparalleled quickness, agility, and jumping ability, Yao has to get the ball quickly where he can be effective. Dream could out-quick the defense, double or triple teamed. Delivering the ball to Yao where he needs it, with the spacing to give him a chance to go into his moves, is of paramount inportance. Give Yao just a small window to work with, with the on-target pass, and he can be deadly. He's proven it. Fronting him won't work with the proper spacing within Adelman's offense and the fast ball movement leading to the perfect pass to the big fella, the fast ball movement and on target pass compensating for the fact that Yao's body doesn't usually move as quickly as Yao's decision making.

Yeah, this stuff make me excited about this season.
