BTW- as a conspiracy sky is falling guy, I am not totally convinced that his knee is going to get all the way better.

I hope so, but have serious doubts.

    Can't help it.

I'm all aboard. Give Dwight's knees a rest and then bring him back fresh for the playoffs. As mentioned earlier, having Smith in the lineup and TJones coming back gives us enough flexibility to stay competitive. We may get outrebounded pretty badly on a few nights until then but so be it. As long as we don't dramatically start loosing to the point we are a bottom 2 seed, I think you can only stand to gain by having a healthier Dwight protecting the rim in the playoffs over a less explosive one.

Honestly, the Smith signing was a huge break for us because it gives us another fairly elite shot blocker to throw out there while Dwight is rehabbing. Besides, this opens up more minutes for TJones in the rotation and they will need him back up to "game speed" in the playoffs too.

Still a few unanswered questions, IMO...I generally give the team the benefit of a doubt, but this isn't really adding up. Either someone screwed up or they're not being completely honest.

Asik had a phantom swollen knee that needed 2 months to heal until it was confirmed that he was no longer in their long term plans.

Nah, that was legit. A couple different people reported actually seeing the swelling, after there was speculation that he was just unhappy.

At the beginning maybe but he was gold bricking there for quite some time trying to force the Rockets to trade him.

I don't think it will get 100% better either. I just hope he can continue his career. Dwight at 70% is still damn good if we get him at a reasonable rate when this current deal runs out.

We all know there has been a lack of transparency with this organization in the past regarding player injuries. Couple that with these leaks from the organization, tweets from Feigen and doctor's quotes that don't really add up to the reality we have seen with Dwight this season and I don't think you have to be much of a conspiracy theorist to still be concerned.

Of course you dont. You hate EVERYTHING even remotely connected to Howard and it wouldnt surprise me if you secretly wished this would lead to a career ending injury. /shrug

You sir, are 100% wrong - I was happy we signed him, and want the original Dwight back strong and healthy.

I do not want the one that can't go full speed, or is trying to protect his knee, that guy makes the team worse, whereas a fully healthy Dwight makes us significantly better.

I don't HATE Dwight, I just want him healthy - even if that means he should get microfracture while on the Rockets dime - he should do whatever is best for himself.

Don't be transferring your disappointment in this situation to me - I don't think anyone here HATES any Rocket.....we just want the team to be great.

Heck, if Chandler Parson is worth 15 million dollars a year. I think Howard putting up 16.5 pts. and 11 rebounds still makes him pretty valuable. The Rockets need to manage his minutes better. Seems like Howard could play, it will just be at a lesser role as long as he can stand the pain.

It sucks that Dwight will be playing out the tail end of his career in Houston, while a shell of his former self. But, he did show Houston loyalty, by taking less money to play here over L.A. it seems that he passed his physical with the Rockets okay.

But, it is appalling how easy fans are to throw a player under the bus. Fans want loyalty from the players (refer to Parson), but are so quick to relegate players as assets for sale, quicker than Morey!!

I'm glad that D-Mo is playing so much improved. And I am glad the Rockets didn't find takers for him early in the offseason. He is now a key to any success the Rockets find this season.

I'm just afraid that in 4 weeks they will say another 4 weeks than the dreaded full season... :(

I just hope this isn't a cover for a possible micro fracture sugary.

Why blame the Rockets organization? How should they do it differently?

They need to keep the morale of the team up, and they themselves are hoping the treatment will work.

Do we expect the Rockets FO to be like clutchfans? It's their job to strategize beyond kneejerk reactions.

I believe you root for the Rox above all else but when you decide to turn on someone or something it is pretty set in stone. In cases where it does not line up you have shown the ability to spin the narrative accordingly even years after the fact.

Unless Dwight returns to prime form, regardless whether his health is the source or not, I could see you referencing this knee procedure in 2017 after putting up a 11/8 clunker against the Hornets.
