Pink is his color and Howard is his man. I totally understand that.

Objectively yes. What else would you be using to show someone is the best NOW? The color of his hair, the way he talks, the muscle size? If the stats argument sounds extreme ridiculous to you, I recommend you watch some more basketball before talk.

Oh, now you want to argue that the Magic is the better team than the Rockets? Is what you trying to say by bringing up Tmac of 2002? No Tmac wasn't the best player because he was on the worst team. Thank you for bringing that up, because likewise Howard is the lesser player because the Magic is the worse team. He can't even out-stat Yao on an worse team, you lose again. What else do you have?

There is a test to that. Switch their teams

Yao on the Suns? I think the Suns will play a different game but be still as competitive as Amare is on the team.

Amare on the Rockets? Personally I don't think that would be a championship contender as it is right now. You lose a huge defensive presence for a machine gun. It will be interesting though?

Amare on the Magic? I don't think Magic will be better, very likely they will be worse.

Yao on Magic? You are talking about eastern conference finalist.

Howard on the Suns or the Rockets? Be really interesting. If they are better, not because Howard plays more offense than Yao or Amare, it's probably Nash or Tmac/Artest plays better, which I doubt.

I'm not saying Yao isn't better than howard. In fact, I personally think he is. The only thing i'm arguing is stats alone can't determine who's better. Other factors including leadership, experience, versatility, PERs, +- ratios, floor presence, and last but not least, winning attitude and performance.

Amare not even a Center. Why don't you compare Kobe to Yao?

Well, there are merits to those factors, but

against my friend, if those things don't show up in team's W column and individual stats sheet, they amount to nothing, arguably.

Sounds like Grant Hill fits in your mode of league MVP. :D

Good point but a team swap doesn't say it all. Rockets are better off with Yao though a Tmac-Amare duo would be fun to watch.

Amare is far superior (skill wise) offensively than Yao and...defensively, Yao beats him with ease. However, didn't like what I saw during the Mavs game. Despite 2 blocks, Yao would just stand aside and let anyone drive on him. Yao is still better defensively but overall Amare is the better player.

Your first post on CF and one of the stupidest things I ever read in my life.

Well, if the swap result is that a team is better off and the other is worse off, then you see the truth. It's not a good test, when both teams better off or worse off.

Why is this guy a member, not a rookie? To start a thread just to quarrel with others on a routine subject is ... rookie-like. :(

Considering a huge part of Howard's scoring relies either on his teammates missing their shots or getting him wide open dunks...

Considering the first 2 options for Orlando is Rashard Lewis and Hedo...

Considering athleticism fades while skill remains...

    Yao is Karl Malone.

    Dwight is Shawn Kemp.

no way is dwight better, he is just big and athletic, that doesn't make you a good basketball player, yao has touch, skill, and just because they score from the same from the line doesnt make him a better freethrow shooter by any means, yao is fouled every play and you know that, its not his fault the refs dont call them

I believe your argument about free throws does not appear to be correct. Missed free throws are like turnovers.

I would say "Got Hops" is the same or part of "Athleticism".

Anyway, I dont understand how people say Howard is the best when he doesnt even have a post game. How can anyone be the best CENTER and not have a post game. If he were the best, you should be able to give him the ball in the post and let him work. Howard has maybe one move (dribble spin move to basket for dunk and seems to be trying to add the running hook) everything else are put backs or lobs/allyoops.

im not going to say that howard wont be better in the future, but as of right now, he is number 2 behind yao. once howard adds a consistent, threatening post game, then we'll talk. until then, stay out of trouble.
