Dwight Howard is the best center in the NBA, live with it.

I have read little of this thread but thank you carmichael dave for posting on this forum. We need an anti-tinman. Thanks for coming out.

 

Howard's been always a nice kid! He's always had a very good attitude and he has a light -no big deal- kinda heart. However, this quote does surprise me a little given how impressive he already have been. He's the first to admit that he's nowhere near what everybody claims he is, humble, and say it as he sees it.
He'll be amazing in his peak. However, his seemingly joyful character will need to fuse with some competitive mean streak.. much like how ppl wanted Yao to have. I think Howard's attitude is even lighter than Yao's, but Howard is really effective and lacks challenges. (maybe except a handful of other true centers)
He's more like a Kevin Willis type (but better) than all-around complete centers as are the greats tho.

 

dam. this thread is still alive? yao and howard are the best in different ways.
if you could fuse them together then you would have the best center in the nba. i think they share that title.

Yeah, so I'm going to swallow my words and say that indisputably, at this point ,Dwight is a better center then Yao. I mean, he changes the game; he dominates. Yao has too many tactics that can completely take him out of the game and at this point, he is nowhere near enough aggressive to be recognized as an alpha dog.

 

yao is only a better center in games agianst howard.

in other games, he is becoming a below-average center.

 

I wouldn't go as far as saying hes "below average" but yeah he has definitely regressed. The best I've ever seen Yao play was at the start of the 2006 season before his injury against the clippers... that was MVP level.

Dwight Howard is the best center in the NBA. If he ever develops a post game then he could become the most dominate player in the league.

Howard is specially for rebounds, his rbs ranking 1st in the league; while Yao can score more points, rbs ranking 10th in the league.This season they met already, Yao beaten Howard

This is how it work. Dwight would take care of business playing scrubby centers like the Gasols.

 

I think at this point, I ahve to agree with this.

 

Howard is much steady than Yao.

You know the magic already lost to the grizz this year right? And in that game howard scored 14 points just like yao.

 

It's a long season. Give it at least 40 games or so. I have to admit that so far this season, it's clearly advantage Howard. But games like tonight when teams make Yao their #1, #2 and #3 focus because Tracy doesn't play aren't indicative. Howard gets flustered too.

 

How can you not agree with that.

in the 4th quarter, SEVEN straight possessions, HOWARD didnt even touch the ball....

i think that's the biggest difference between yao and howard. Yao is the main weapon and go to guy for his team. He has shown he could win ball games if the team can get him the ball in the clutch time.
