Dwight Howard is the best center in the NBA, live with it.

    LOL.

Howard's lack of offensive game was really obvious against a good defender like Yao. It was kind of embarrassing for Dwight...
I wonder how the Howard jockriders are going to rationalize this pwnage. Odds are we won't see Lastpinkstanding here for awhile like most trash talking fools that come around here.

Sad attempt by the refs to try and "even" things. Crap officiating the whole game is the only thing that stopped Yao.

Howard needs to develop some post moves and some go to moves. He can land massive dunks but he needs to get to the point where he can attempt those. As of right now, he relies too heavily on Jameer Nelson and Turkglou to make make drives or run pick and roll plays to feed him the ball.

Still no sign of a jump hook.

Still no signs of reliable post moves.

Still no signs of any short jumper game.

And very limited ability to initiate offense to get open looks for teammates.

As it stands, If Howard were to pass Yao, it would be because of Yao's decline health wise, not because Dwight went to the next level, because frankly I am not seeing a lot of improvement in his game, other than the physical aspects.

This isn't quite thread related, but on a side-note Bogut is having a pretty nice season with 11 and 11.

^^bogut is a decent center. i would love to have him on my team. he's very aggressive and he has a non-stop motor. good passing skills and nice post moves.

Yao owns Amare, Dwight, Bynum, and Oden. I still think Duncan gives Yao problems with they play against each other.

Yao is the best 5 in the league, too bad his speed and health is a liability.

Is Howard still leading the league in rebounding and blocked shots? Is Howard still 22 years old?

What's to bother with the inherent stupidity of judging two players by the TWO games they play against each other each season, particularly when one player is 6 years older than the other.

You look like a fool when you come here after any subpar Howard game to trash him.

he can dominate scrubs all he wants, but head to head is the true measurement of strength. Yao dominates howard in that. If you wanna use stat to compare the two, head to head is the best stat.

yao is off a serious surgery and is adjusting to new teammates and tactics. He is off a slow start. But there shouldn't be any doubt who is the best big man after tonight. If you can't see that, go watch the game.

Another thing is fact that Yao also plays with 2 other Superstars, in fact, the number of offensive weapons on this team is much more than that of the Magic.

When you calculate all of that in... well of course Howard would have more points than Yao.

I think the Yao and Howard comparison is skewed because of the way Yao can be defended. We would always see Yao playing batter than Dwight in head to head matchups, because Yao is usually not fronted when he's playing against other true great centers like Dwight and Shaq. Yes, Yao is still being doubled occasionally, but its fronting that gives Yao the biggest trouble, and you just cannot do that to dwight.

If this team wanna be dominant, Adelman wanna find a way to exploit opportunities when Yao is being fronted.

Case closed? Only if your pea-sized brain could process the information a little better.

First of all, the above stats didn't include the head-to-head game they played tonight. Second, the opponents/teams they have faced are not the same. Third, Rockets' schedule thus far is decidedly tougher than Magic's.

    Stick with WNBA, will ya?

But wouldn't being older be a disadvantage for Yao?

And like Bornz said, how the hell do you expect Yao to put up the same stats as Howard when he has better offensive options in McGrady/Artest/Scola? I will give him being the better rebounder and shot blocker, but he still can't do it against Yao. What a terrible excuse.

What really kills Howard is the lack of a potent post game. Once he learns that, he can be declared better than Yao.
