i disagree. the thing is players are allowed to be more physical with him than he is with them. if a guy is allowed to use all his strength against you just because hes a little smaller and you can't use your strength without being whistled that must be extremely frustrating. guys are leaning on him hard and when he tries to open up to receive a pass he gets whistled. hes punished for being bigger and stronger than most of the people he comes against.
Imagine Yao was called for 5 fouls and played just 20 minutes every games in the playoffs. This board will explode!
I'm going to say exactly what I said when people complain about Yao's fouls. Big men are refereed differently and are hard to referee.
Seems like alot of his fouls are like Yao's in that he tries to jump straight up and get away with contact as the player collides with him. Dwight is athletic enough to be able to avoid that contact, unlike Yao.
Link? I'm surprised nobody asked. Not trying to be a jerk, but I want to know who wrote this article. Must be Howard's dad.
The fines are ridiculous... however Howard is pretty stupid for making such comments. He should know that anything lightly negative about the refs will earn you a fine. Would a player's strike against the refs be beneficial? Or do strikes always negatively effect the players first? Maybe all it takes is for all the allstars to strike against the NBA and the refs. But then again, it's them that mostly get the calls their way.
