Dwight Howard demanded Kobe be muzzled

Why would Howard want to be on a Lakers team with no good players? The Lakers organization just can't accept that Dwight chose Houston over the Lakers because he wants to win championships. They are not used to people leaving their organization and are so arrogant about it that they are rationalizing it by believing that Howard had these demands and would have stayed if they were met. I honestly think that Howard never wanted to be a Laker and was just counting the days till free agency so he could pick the team with the best chance to win. Like it or not Lakers organization, that would be the Houston Rockets. They are just trying to "save face" and make their franchise remain looking good while vilifying Dwight Howard (similar to what the Cavs did when Lebron left). The Lakers organization is in shambles right now in my opinion. This is the most dysfunctional I've seen their front office and I think it will be a long time before they win another title.

Smart move by buss to make the lakers a sympathetic figure....Giving the fans something to rally around...

It's completely made up, but it's a smart business move.

I believe it. He's a superstar and shouldn't have to put up with d'antoni hurting his stock and Kobe's b**** ass mouth. Just like any other superstar demands stuff. Why else you think we got rid off our trainer and hired his old trainer. Naive fans are naive.

I don't think that's immature, it's just business. It meant too much sense for Adidas man to come over here and pick up his money. Haven't you heard how Nike manipulates who makes it team USA and what not?

The only fans who aren't going to be annoyed by a Dwight Howard are the fans of whatever team he is playing for. Sports fans are generally devoid of objectivity when it comes to their own star players. If Howard hadn't signed with Houston then Rockets fans would feel very differently about Howard.

Also, if Jerry Buss were still around, or if he had properly groomed his successor, Howard would still be a Lakers. The Lakers will be bad for years. I can totally see Carmelo signing with L.A. next summer but they're not going to be able to surround him with a proper supporting cast, and he will be playing for a series of lottery-bound, irrelevant Lakers teams.

They should've hired Phil Jackson instead of Mike D'Antoni, amnestied Kobe, and wait to sign Carmelo next summer. But they didn't, and the reason why is lousy ownership.

Also hard to take Kobe's 'death stare' seriously with a muzzle on his face.

I've been demanding Kobe be muzzled for years but no one listened to me. If Dwight actually said this it wouldn't be the first time. I'm sure Shaq told Phil to muzzle that fool or else a number of times. I can just see Kobe walking around with that smug 15 year old look on his face like he is cool when he knows he's about to get crushed. Kobe's arrogance knows no bounds.

Just like they did with rip Hamilton, that plastic mask to deny his emotions full of unhappiness.

That's just Skip's way of saying that Dwight doesn't kiss Kobe's a$$. As far as the "fire and muzzle" demands go, that is a csn report. You can take that with a ton of salt.:)

Bryant isn't the mentoring kind, competitive guys like him and MJ don't make great teachers because they focus on being the best too much. If all you care about is being the best why would you help another guy out, that guy may end up having a better legacy than you. If you think about it Kobe could have taken both Wade and LBJ under his wing when they played together during the Olympics, and maybe LBJ could have gone to LA when he made his decision. Instead he spent his time yapping about how hard a time LBJ would have playing with Shaq. When LBJ and Wade talked about how much they learned from Kobe, they always said it was by watching him prepare for games, rather than Kobe actually mentoring them or sharing to them his tricks of the trade.

He's not immature, he's just human. All of us has had this experience at work with an officemate or boss you just can't stand. Unlike us though DH actually has leverage to kick that guy out.
