They have an amazing front office? Kupcake is not calling the shots, Buss Jr. is and has been a disaster....

A whiny prima donna with back problems that made a name for himself in Orlando...what could go wrong?

If he does come to Houston, it will be fun to watch a show of hacking DW or hacking Asik.

    Cali is 13% income tax.

I think players also pay tax on earning for the state where the game took place. Like if you play at the MSG, you pay 7% tax.

Lakers signing him to max after the season would be GREAT!

I don't see how much better is Howards over Asik. Howards has limited, if there is any more upside. However, Asik has plenty of upside and he knows his job, which is grabbing board. Great if he can score 8 to 10 points, but his scoring is not necessary.

For Howards, he demands the ball all the time and if he doesn't get it, he doesn't play. And he is a liability for crunch time.

His career FT shooting % is better than Asik's.

He would be making 102.6 million over 5 years once taxes have been taken out in Cali. In Texas he would make 88 over 4 years. So basically it comes down to 14.6 million minus whatever he would make in that theoretical 5th year with his other team. Lets say he is going to a MLE player going into that 5th year (doubtful considering how effective an injured Howard is versus other centers), the difference would be less than ten million.

Duh-wight has 30,000,000 reasons to stay in L.A. And L.A., well, is L.A.

Three days ago in an interview he mentioned how even sitting he has numbness going down his legs.

    No, thanks.

So why is it that he's willing to leave Orlando for 30 million but not LA? This Lakers team is doing even worse then the Orlando team

You have to admit that starting D12 17/12/2 at center and then bringing Asik 10/11.5/1 off of the bench would make Houston a monster on the boards and in the paint on defense for all 48 minutes. Right now when Asik goes out of the game our defense in the paint and our rebounding suffer dramatically.

There is no question that D12 would make the Rockets legit contenders if added to Lin, Harden, Parsons and some PF with Asik, Delphino, Douglas coming off the bench.

What happens if the Rockets trade Asik/Lin during the off-season?

What happens if the Rockets trade Asik/Lin during the off-season? The Rockets will have paid out $5.3 million to each of them. Will the team the Rockets trade with receive the same $8.3 million per year cap hit and have to pay them $5 million and $15 million over the next two seasons?

Dwight is tired of Disney World. Plus, he just got a season pass to Disneyland. He's not about to give that up to contend for a championship.

    No.

Howard is infinite better than Asik. He has great hands and will catch the ball, can finish around the rim extremely well. You're right, he doesn't has any more upside but that's like saying Chris Paul isn't getting any better...boy we hope so, otherwise the league will be in trouble.

The only thing I worry about Dwight is his back, and I even mentioned this WAY back last year when we were first going after him. It doesn't sound well.

I am not sure I really want Howard, he seems to be performing really well; however, he complains about his back still bothering him. That is only getting worse each season. My only fear is that if we max contract him, then he goes drama queen or re-agrivates one of his ongoing injuries. :(

DHo is not 6'9 enough to be our PF.
