He needs a new user ID since he banished Jopatmc from teh board once the Romney landslide he staked his BBS persona on didn't materialize.

It's way to early to tell but if the Lakers under perform this year and Dwight is a free agent next summer and Harden has an MVP caliber year then I think it's very possible that D12 gives Houston some serious consideration.

I don't think an NBA player voluntarily leaves LA unless there's a huge pay raise somewhere else. I think it's more likely that LA kicks Kobe to the curb and chases after Durant.

D-Howard one best PNR centers. He actually great fit for Harden in Lin.

I think Howard is fast enough and I put him at PF position and create Houston new twin towers. That could cause issue on offensive spacing. but Asik shown some ability to pass at least.

Because if you take Westbrook out of the starting line-up you'd want another dynamic ball handler/scorer in with the starters. You'd also likely be making more of a commitment to Harden since you traded away your all star point guard.

Maybe, maybe not. But I would have taken that chance.

Thanks drobo for answering my question at the same time as I typed it.

Some of y'all must have missed his post, either that or they don't undestand that no superstar will leave their team via free agency under the current rules.

Absolutely NOT going through another Dwightmare! Let that drama queen stay in LA where he belongs.

Kevin Love is the guy. It would be an absolute dream come true.

How exactly are you guys suggesting we go after KLove, thinking that we pry him from Minny given our lack of assets and the fact that he's not a FA for a few more years?

Dwight is not a realistic target because of the amount of money he'd have to give up to come here, and because he wants to be in a large market like LA.

CP3 is not a realistic target because of the amount of money he'd have to give up and because he already plays beside a young star named Blake Griffin. (Unless Blake blows chunks the rest of the year for some reason, which doesn't seem likely.)

KLove is not a realistic target because he's under contract for two years after this one and we don't have the trade assets to tempt Minny.

I honestly can't think of a true superstar at this year's trade deadline or in the offseason free agency period we can actually tempt to come play with here, even with Harden.

I think we will end up going after a guy like Smith, Millsap, Jefferson, or somebody on that level. We will have to hope that Harden emerges as the #1 SG in the NBA, and that a low level all star like Smith plays Pippen to his Jordan, and the two of them plus Lin and Asik are enough to lead us to a title.

Might as well hope for Lebron in 2014 if we are going for pipe dreams.

I don't think we will ever have an option much better than those guys, to be honest with you. Superstars aren't going to move around via free agency anymore unless they're REALLY unhappy with their current team. I don't see any possibilities like that around the bend, unless you want to wait a few years to use the cap space.

Is it looking less far-fetched at this point, that Dwight Howard may not be a Laker next season?

If it is him, didn't take long to activate that dormant account.

    The Sleeper Awakes! (?)

    EDIT:

Too bad he didn't do the same with his DHoward assertions, 'cause here we go again.

In any case, let's not hold our breath for Dwight Howard. I'll assume we upgrade at the 4/5 and let the TJones and ChandlerP type players continue to improve.

Unless Howard calls Morey and says, Hold a spot for me, I'd just as soon get Al Horford for the 4/5 and set up Atlanta with cap room next summer to steal Howard from LAL and CP3 from Clips.

He's not joepatmc. Joepatmc is still at the airport, waiting for Dwight Howard to arrive.

I swear you dudes are on something. CP3 is 100x better than Lin. The only thing Dwight has over Asik is athleticism. He's not that great on offense. CP3 is a better version of Lowry. A PG that can do everything and is a walking triple double.
