Somebody somewhere in the line has to just say "Nope." Start over.

But even if he had gotten the face right, how about just something more creative overall. Add the city skyline under him, or just something, and if it doesn't work, start over and try again.

It's almost as if the sculptor hated Wade and intentionally made him look awful. I mean, this would be equivalent to like a high school art student. I know it's metal but damn. And I can only assume they actually paid the artist. I would have looked at it and said hey, I know that wasn't cheap to make but you have to at least make it look like the guy, fix it or keep it cause I'm not paying for that.

If they can't get the face to look like him -- which is probably a very difficult thing to do when sculpting -- should have gone with a pose that obscures it.

The arms too. As I said in another thread. It's like the pose of someone at a hotdog eating contest, mouth open wide and dunking two hotdogs in water.

Maybe... the world's oldest hotdog eating contestant.

My favorite comment on this Miami tragedy --> D-Wade: "Yeah, I have an i-Phone."

    Spokesperson of the year?

They would be better off knocking the head off like some old Greek sculpture.

That list is getting locked in an FBI filing cabinet for the rest of time, just like the Epstien client list before.

Lawrence Fishburne?! Jesus that is an insult. Glad Hakeem was not allowed to have his face portrayed. I don’t understand the fascination and obsession with building statues.

I mean they should just build statues of retired jerseys and statistical numbers.

Once one team starts doing it, I think other teams feel pressure to do the same, unfortunately.

Maybe it started in baseball? I know the SF Giants have at least a couple outside of their stadium, like Willie Mays.

I can't imagine how much these "artists" actually got paid for this type of "work" to be done.... these busts/statues are supposed to last FOREVER no?
