Does anybody have any recommendations for software to convert DVDs to an acceptable format for iPhones or iPads?

I know how to do it the best way possible but you need DVD Decrypter, DGIndex, VirtualDub, and AVS Video Converter. I don't think you want to do all that.

Not all that. You can do DVD Decrypter OR VirtualDub, which rips the movie. Then use SUPER© to convert the movie to an MPG or AVI format that iTunes and iPad will accept, then synchronize to your phone.

I've been able to add chapters only (for short episodes of TV shows, or just single cartoons from collections), into my iPods. I have not done this to iPad yet.

You may also want to just buy the movie, too.

I haven't tried HandBrake but will, now that everyone is saying it. I'm thinking it removes one of the steps I've outlined above.

Good luck, Señor Pun. Let us know what solution you use!
