I'd like to thank everyone for posting their lists, my wish list is gigantic now after browsing through everyone's list. I'll be a very old man once I complete this list...
I only have a DVD player on my laptop. The only DVD I own is the first season of 24. I am a big fan. I don't understand why people buy so many DVDs. It seems like it would be much cheaper to have a NetFlix membership. If you have 300 DVDs, you've probably paid at least $3000. That would be equivalent to about 150 months of NetFlix. What am I missing?
There is just something about owning the movie and being able to watch it anytime I want. It's some kinda collecting trait in my DNA.... sports cards/dvds
Here's my list at DVD Aficionado I've got 1 regular DVD player, I bought my parents a combo jobber(VCR/DVD) and I've got one each in my desktop and laptop peecees for a total of four players.
I have completed my list now at 365 titles. http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&id=dirtyduck74 Just remember I do have an 8 year old son and a wife so that is why I have some of the strange titles I have
Black Hawk Down is coming out with a special edition DVD. link Does this piss anyone off when a special edition version comes out months after you've wasted $15 on the now useless original? Are there are any websites that tell if a special edition DVD is going to be made in adavance before I have to waste money buying both versions?
Sometimes I peruse http://www.thedigitalbits.com/ to see if special editions are coming out. I used to buy the first version don't bother any more. I sold my originals on amazon.com. EBay works, too, but Amazon is kind nice in that you can see what people are selling it for, and decide, I just want to get rid of this and undercut everyone by a dollar or so. Plus you don't have to take a picture, the money goes straight into your checking account, swept in every two weeks or so.
Yeah, I'm holding out on BIG movies that haven't yet turned out a SE yet for this very reason. This is why I haven't purchased any Star Wars, Matrix, or LOTR DVD's because I'm planning on them putting a super special edition for their respective series(gr?)es...
Can one of you point me to that thread? I always thought Columbia House was a rip because of the $3 shipping they tack onto each DVD.
band geek mobster you think there is going to be a even more special editon LOTR. Only other thing i could see them doing would be putting all 3 extended versions of the movies together in a 3 pack
You never know pele...there's always something that could be added to a dvd... Another reason I haven't purchased the LOTR SE is mainly because of the setup. I hate that you have to change discs in mid-movie...I don't think you should ever have to do that with a DVD...
So is there going to be a special edition XMen2 like there was for the first one? Also... Guesses on a special edition Matrix Reloaded? Maybe like longer fight scenes? It's what I'm dying for.
Longer fight scenes? It seemed like the one in the playground with the billion Smiths would never end...
Ok you whippersnappers... you need to get Dr. Strangelove. Stanley Kubricks tour-de-farce about an accidental nuclear war starring Peter Sellers is probably right behind Citizen Kane as the best movie of all time. Hell, the Slim Pickins scenes alone are worth the price of the disc. Trust me on this. GP
