How can you not understand where it's coming from? He called our rivals CF a guy he would play everyday but said he don't have a guy as good as that so he has to mix and match...Chas has better numbers Then the he ain't a big boy rant Maybe Dusty is just senile
42/50 is 84%. That isn't typical for a starter that doesn't catch or platoon. And that is games played, not started. He's started 79 games since he got off the IL out of 109 games played.
I seriously doubt it's a distraction in the clubhouse. This is the first time it's been blown up in the media, but it's not like there hasn't been chatter about it in the clubhouse. Those guys are together every day, they know what's going on and whatever feelings they have about the situation isn't going to change over this. This stuff affects the fans more than anything, and then Dusty cause he is the one who will be answering all the questions about it
I’m aware. Look, I am Dusty’s biggest critic and think he’s a relic that should have remained out at pasture. I’m just trying to explain it.
I'm just saying Chas isn't viewed as glove first player doesn't hold water when a significantly worse hitter plays DH.
On MLB.tv : After talking about our crazy series with the Rangers, they mentioned Chas and someone chirped in he needs to play every day......
That quote doesn't accurately quote what Dusty said. At 0:50, Dusty actually says "and then he said I haven't played him" right before he says "he's played 42 out of 50 games" So did Chas complain about playing time? That could get you in the doghouse
At the end of the day, we can all complain about his Chas usage, Diaz vs Maldy, etc, but in the grand scheme of things, none of it matters if at least one of the other starters not named JV or Framber doesn’t step up.
I'm not a Rome fan, but he isn't saying anything the numbers and record isn't supporting. Chas has played as well as Tucker this season, both offensively and defensively. One is talking about a 300 million extension, and on is talking about playing everyday.
