I can see him doing that. Harden never sold his 2 homes here.

no I didn’t, I can’t even see that happening with the way Udoka didn’t want him last time…. things would have to go bad in La and we are desperate for a Harden move. (Ex: Fred out for the year etc)

Hardens back on that I need my money cuz I’m the man mode. I can’t see him taking a paycut, 2 years from now? Maybe.

Every time I watch KD vs. watching Jabari, I feel it looks like me trying to emulate the Dream Shake back in middle school. I really hope bringing in KD either helps Jabari reach his potential or maybe try a different path to NBA stardom.

Really? No one? AsianSensation, amongst others, would disagree. Plus, if you read the post, I did say many hate him for how he left as well.

I liked Jalen Green for this team. My vision was that he would keep improving like many young players with promise do. He showed enough frequent flashes for me to believe he'd find consistency. His defense improved drastically, his playmaking improved too. I just thought he'd become the foul drawing, slippery offensive juggernaut that he was capable of.

That being said, I watched a bunch of Durant highlights from last year and he's definitely a better player than Jalen right now. He might even be better than Jalen on his best day in the future, but I wanted to build a championship squad from the ground up that could be together for a decade like so many dynasty teams boast around sports.

I disagree with you that we would've been better without Jalen out there at all. Teams loaded up on him and the minute he figures out how to beat defenses that are geared to stop him, he'll be a great player. I am coming around to this trade being a good thing short term though. I mostly worry about injuries to Durant at the wrong time that cripple us (especially going into the playoffs) and he will decline and retire soon enough after this trade.

I'd never walk away from my Rockets, but when Barkley was traded to Houston I didn't like gutting the team for him either. I guess I just like home-built chemistry. We can easily still have that by keeping all the rest of the core, but I just wanted all of the core to stay. It is what it is and if we win more because of Durant and Jalen continues to be inconsistent, I'll never regret this move. If Durant gets injured, never leads us in the playoffs and Jalen takes off... I'll be pretty sad. Maybe even jaded. But I'll never leave the Rox over this. It's better to enjoy the new ride KD takes us on.

the great thing about the way this team is structured, when KD, Fred and Adams age out, and their massive contracts come off the books, our home grown talent will be seasoned and ready to step up. And we can continue to draft and grow more talent with all the picks we still have ;)

The nerd in me found this aspect of the legality of the trade quite fascinating. Not sure if posted, pardon me if it had been.

We won’t know how to act. Someone on the Rockets can finally shoot!

I can just imagine FVV dumping the ball into the post and the double team comes, Sengun passes to the corner to KD for 3. Or KD/Sengun running pick n roll with Bari/Tari in the corner. So many things are going to be so much more efficient when it comes to getting quality looks.

I remember watching reels of Amen and Sengun on bleacher or sidelines. Durant used to like them off his IG last year. Lowkey, he knows every player on this team.

Trading 23 y/o up and coming star for a 36 y/o injury proned Durant reminds me of the PG for SGA trade. Not saying that JG has the potencial of becoming SGA but still.. the flashes, tho not consistent, were there.
Yes, we got KD on a cheap price but I think that losing Brooks will have huge impact on the defensive end too.

Durant was congratulating him and calling him "brother" last season when Harden got to #2 on the all-time 3PM list. I think whatever issues they had are probably water under the bridge. At least for Durant it seems to be.

Probably the Kyrie Brooklyn Anti semitism issue and some of that......

anytime something like that imploded, you get confused and frustrated out of there.

That was the first time I guess Durant and Irving orchestrated their version of Super friends and invited Harden, it went sideways.

I'm skeptical about Durant's impact at this age. KD has always been a follower and he never led OKC to success. He abandoned them for GS.
Nevertheless, I'm glad that he wants to play for the Rockets. He believes in the potential of the young players, and he realizes that more help is needed.

I don't know if another significant player will want to join Durant with a big paycut. I'm not referring to FVV here.

This is nothing like giving up on our core to chase a ring though as we traded Sam & Bob for Barkley. Actually we kept 90% of our core and still managed to add an all-star. That’s huge and the difference is almost night and day. We would still win with 3/5 starters of guys we drafted so that’s pretty darn good.

I would loop in Celtics to expand the existing deal, sending Landale and Aaron Holiday to Boston for Hauser (main frame of the side deal). Cap specialists would this framework work cap wise for both teams?
