    quote from Durant:

"When I was growing up, I said I wanted to be in the NBA. I never said I wanted to play for New York or Los Angeles or D.C.,'' Durant says. "I just want to be in this league -- its a privilege -- and I can't be picky about a market. I want the opportunity to win, and we have that right here. It's not about market or money to me. We're all blessed to be getting the money we're getting, so there's no need to be greedy. This is the perfect team for me. Trying to get to a bigger market is the last thing I'm thinking about.''

yea, to the person who mentions you have to have lots of money to enjoy NY, thats the truth. If you don't make a lot of money ,this place would just be frustrating, and even if you have money its pretty annoying seeing the prices and expenses of living here coming from Texas.
Its nice in terms you can walk around and see cool things, the building, so on. Thats why I feel its a cool place temporarily or to visit, but livingwise long term, houston is a pretty good option

Give it a year of living there and unless you are filthy rich you probably won't enjoy anymore.

Didn't Duncan expore his options in FA after his rookie deal expired? Didn't Shaq move to Lakers from Orlando?

In anycase, I think a part of this has to be the looming expiration of the cba. New cba may have lower max.

Didn't Tim Duncan almost sign with Orlando?

I wish OKC could move back to Seattle.

I know "you're not supposed to wish great things on the enemy," and it's crazy for me to say as a Rockets fan . . . but

    I miss the Supersonics.

I also hated the move to OKC but what has helped me a lot is KD's emergence has given the Thunder their own identity and a complete break from the old Sonics. Plus, their home crowds are great, much more lively than Seattle and they really appreciate having a team. Instead of the Thunder, I'd like the Grizzlies or Bobcats to move to Seattle.

Duncan made a verbal commitment to Orlando, but decided to sign for more money with the Spurs. Kobe explored his options also. Many max free agents love to explore their options, but they always end up signing for more money at home. Didn't Shaq explore his options, while with the Lakers also?

Shaq left. 1 max player in the last 20 years out of the whole league is a one-off exception.

How many max players have left under the current CBA(2005-06 to 2010-11), when their home teams offered max money? none.

We also have to remember that Shaq and Tim were under the prior CBA at the time. The loss is $30 million under the current CBA.

So one player in the last 15 years (under the pre 1999 lockout CBA) has actually moved after a rookie deal- that makes Durant exceptional how?

So predictable. What's with the need to knock LBJ in every post? Seriously? You need a new hobby.

BTW Kobe let it be known he would never play for Charlotte, the team he was drafted by. Interesting, huh?
