3 blocks and 9 boards as a SF don't register?

    Bitter much?

When KD didn't defer to and played second fiddle to Westbrook, that's when he is at his BEST!

Wait till his rebounding numbers go down next season (because they have legit bigs now and KD doesn't have to make up for Jeff Green). That will give them more to carp and complain about.

His rebounding will still be good, because he wants to be great!!!...7/8 rebs a game should shut up some of those folks....then they'll complain about his assists total...

I would have killed to see Durant play for Adelman in his system here in Houston. You wouldn't hear a peep from the denizens of ClutchFans as to whether he's a "superstar" or not. It would be obvious that he fits the bill, IMO, even to many that claim that at the moment, he's not.

And his attitude is a bonus.

    Hardworker, quiet and modest.

I'm actually really surprised some folks here dislike the guy so much. Sure he gets superstar calls, but he doesn't flop to get it.

    The guy just plays.

    Agreed.

Scoring is awesome to see and he's one of the best at scoring.

I just want him to become a better defender because he has the great length and size to do so.

He is not a bad defender....

He even has the tangibles to support it. One steal and one block per game is better than 90% of the NBA.

Can't believe people are arguing whether or not KD is a superstar. Check what his oppenents had to say after the game.

"Durant," Zach Randolph said after the game, "is a special player."

Added Lionel Hollins, "He came back from a subpar game and showed the heart of a champion."

You people that are hating on Durant need to get real...He is a type 5 player in the game today.

Shaq was a superstar and he couldn't hit free throws.
Barkley was a superstar and he wasn't a great defensive player.
Bird was a superstar and he was slow and couldn't do cool dunks..
the list can go on and on

what made them superstars then? winning, leadership, being clutch

Unless they go small a lot next year, he definitely won't average 7-8 rebounds. Again, Jeff Green is gone and the need for KD to make up the slack on the boards is gone too. His rebs will go back down and people will fault him for it.

Going forward, KD's assists definitely need to go up (and his TOs could go down some) as OKC's roster matures.

Steals and blocks per 48 min would be better stat.

The Grizzlies series proved conclusively that the Thunder are at their best when Westbrook defers to Durant. Now, they're going to the conference Finals and may go to the Finals. And Durant is the leading scorer in the league 2 years running. He's a legit superstar. There's only 3 or 4 players in the league that wouldn't be traded by their teams to get Durant. Don't know how much better he's got to get or what else he has to do to be a superstar.

Dream was a superstar but he wouldn't talk trash, never caused any drama, and never was a media w****.

    That work?

Didn't Dream tell Mario Elie before the Spurs series, that David Robinson has his trophy?

WHat??? Below average handles? How many 6'10 guys in the NBA that can handle the ball like Kevin Durant? How many? NONE!!! Kevin Durant has great handle for his size. His ballhandling skills are elite. There are not a single 6'10 player other than Durant that can cross his defender over and make a tough jumpshot.

He is still young and growing. He will learn how to find open teammates when defense collapse on him. Kevin Durant can attack the rim pretty well too. Its hard to guard him because of his size and amazing touch. He is a superstar. If you think Melo is a superstar, then Durant is indeed a superstar. He is already better than Melo and he's still incredibly young, the youngest scoring champ in the history of the NBA.
