Last year was the first year i saw lebron play the way he should. It's a learning experience for Durant he'll get there.
KD's performance in this years playoffs reminded me a lot of Lebron's playoff performances when he was on the Cavs. The guy had no help and was the only guy on the floor able to create his own shot. KD will get on Lebron's level in a few years. He still has some more growing up to do and needs a healthy Westbrook.
KD is still the second best player in the league, but Lebron still edges him out. I think if you swapped out Lebron for KD, OKC still would not have beaten Memphis.
feel like this is a troll thread. I mean Durant isn't a "superstar?" Durant is the 2nd best player in the league (could make an argument for Kobe), so only "superstar" is the best player in the NBA, maybe the best player of all-time?
If anything, Westbrook's absence has exposed Ibaka. He has to be a threat in the post if OKC wants to win. He should have moved his game inside instead of shooting 3's all summer.
Superstar has always been an subjective term that people throw around. Whenever the Rockets lose, it's because we need another 'superstar', but no one can define who qualifies.
Give credit to Memphis defense. Hardly anyone is who we thought they were when they play against Memphis. Maybe Memphis isn't who we thought they were? Maybe thoughts was were until now where thoughts are now Durant was were who far go like?
difference between Durant and James to Durant must keep three allen, Conley and Prince and James simply stops just p.george and Durant is already on James's gaming level with much greater opportunities for progress
I just remember last year in the NBA finals, everyone crowned Durant as the best player in the NBA and they crowned the Thunder as champions. Go look at the thread from last year. Now we are all singing a different tune. LeBron is the best and it isn't even close. What a difference 1 year makes.
People bashing on Durant for this series need their head examined. You just saw how important Westbrook is to that team. Without him, they had nobody to provide any consistent scoring to stop Memphis from loading up on KD. If anything, this ought to shut up the people that think Rondo or a pass 1st pg would make the Thunder better. They have to have Westbrook's scoring with Durant in their starting five. Ibaka, Perkins and Thabo just don't cut it offensively.
