As others said, we were in a playoff hunt and losing a player who is considered a leader and the best corner on the team would have been a major shot at the morale of the team. Last year, we had absolutely no idea about mccain and quin. I think a big part in the decision to let Dunta walk was the fact that those two showed flashes as rookies.
That's kind of irrelevant. I doubt he'll be there that long. I just want to know how much they're going to overpay him.
From McClain's twitter... I'm hearing Dunta Robinson is getting 27 mil guaranteed on his six-year deal that will be announced Saturday. That's great for him.
Are you freaking kidding me? 27 guaranteed??? Falcons got pwnd! LOL! Did they even watch tape of him last year when he was "healthy"?
"Ha-ha-ha! I'm Dunta Robinson; the only thing bigger than my paycheck is the separation that I give up! I also eat babies!"
Guys, wouldn't it have been smart of the Texans if they would of franchise him and traded him for at least a 2nd or 3rd round pick like that Pats did with that QB last year? Oh well. I guess this is what we expect from the Texans I guess.
If no one would be willing to give up what we wanted, we would be stuck paying him 12 million for this year
Depends. We don't know how much Dunta is getting per year. My guess is $9 mil. Would Atlanta have been willing to trade for him if he were making $12 mil? Cassel got $14 million when he was franchised which is a much more understandable salary for a QB than it is for a CB. The Falcons choosing to add Dunta makes more sense when he isn't going to be the highest paid player on the team.
I just looked at McClain's twitter for the first time. Holy Crap! I think he's trying to post a freakin' novel one sentence a time. Note to John: Twitter is not the place to tell a long ass story. The guy does not shut up.
I ****ing told ALL OF YOU!!! H would make more than you thought! Not that he dissevered it. It's about how much the market sets his price was.
WOW just WOW... Adam_Schefter New Falcons CB Dunta Robinson cashed in with Atlanta. He signed a six-year, $57 million contract that includes $25.5 million in guarantees.
That is one the most ridiculous contracts as far as value is concerned. Wow. Wonder what the discussions like on Falcons boards...I dont think they quite understand how he played last season.
Seems like the majority think it's a good move for them. Excuses are, "he was coming off an ACL injury", "he's with better coaches now", etc..
Looks like he made the right decision not to accept the supposed $23MM guaranteed from the Texans last summer. He made out like a bandit his last year in Houston and then gets an incredible contract from the Falcons. Life is good for Dunta Robinson. Couldn't have worked out any better for him.
