This is really bad news...hopefully he can make a miraculous and speedy recovery. This team is dead in the water without him.

    Deangelo Hall anyone?

This is just horrible...for Dunta and the Texans. It doesn't sound like he'll ever be quite the same.He might be turned into a safety before all is said and done.
Fred Bennett should grow very quickly now.If Dunta somehow comes through this as our CB next year they will prove a tough twosome.

Either way we were going to need help in the secondary via the draft/trade/free agency. Now our need for a corner next year matches OL help....great.

i think we're jumping the gun considering nobody here is his doctor. i haven't heard career threatening from the organization yet, and they were quick to throw that word around with charles spencer. obviously that was a brutal injury but i'm optimistic dunta can make it back strong.

that said, dunta can hit like a mofo, is safety out of the question?

no it's not, he can be the Texans Bob Sanders, in fact if Dunta can get back for next season (I don't think he will I'm guessing PUP list like Spencer) I would play him at safety and then in 2009 make the call if he goes back to DB or stays at safety.

my wife is a doctor, and I asked her about the injury. She said that if his actual hamstring was ripped off the bone severly, he'll never play football again. If it was a lesser tear, he should he fine.

Ask her this: if his hamstring was really "ripped off the bone", would he have really been able to get himself up on that cart the way he did?

I didn't see the play, as I was watching "the other game" :p

Seeing as I know nothing about medicine or leg injuries, my amatuer opinion would be that there is no way you could get up if that was the case.

She had never heard of a case where the hamstring was ripped off like that. She said if that was the case, he was done. Perhaps that was just a sports writer overexaggerating

yeah i'm thinking it was just an overanxious sportswriter as i think i've only heard the phrase 'torn from the bone" from one source.

either way i suspect texanskan is right and he'll be out all of next year too. this just sucks.
