Lols I've noticed to get Yao Ming to dunk you gotta press shoot + R2 before the circle or else he'll just lay it in, quite stupid really :D McGrady is the true star on the NBA 2k8 team. He can pop shots from anywhere. I shoot better with Rafer and Battier then they do in real life

Once he do it the first time he will start doing it more.

He have one after a offensive board in preseason, right now I think he is overcautious of the Bigs in the NBA, I thing he give them to much respect, he need to know who in the NBA is a Block shooter and the one that can't block at all he need to go and flush it over them.

Does that mean that dunks win championships?

    Well, it's simplic logic.

All coaches are looking for easy baskets and high % shots. Dunks are the highest % shots.

If players finish with dunks when it is possible, then they certainly score more points with the same number of shots. Score more points certainly helps a team to win games - even games in Finals, I guess.

Carl Landry (11 dunks) is shooting 70+% in the paint - dunking is one of the reasons for Landry's high %.
Scola (0 dunk) and Hayes (2 dunks) are only shooting 50+ % in the paint - both are flat foot non-dunker.

KG is such a wuss. a big, athletic PF, yet only 40 dunks. ranked below 30. and Yi has 34 dunks. not far behind. plays less minutes too. and people complain about Yao

Shouldn't the guy who is 7'6" and doesn't have to jump to dunk, dunk the most?

shouldn't someone who jumps fast and higher and tall dunk more than a guy who is over 300 lbs and slow and 12 inch vertical at best?

Exactly. This is why everyone should just dunk. If we just had all of our guys dunking instead of taking jumpshots we would win every time. No one would miss.

I am really sick of Scola laying the ball up. Stupid Scola. Just dunk over your defender already! Jeez! Scare him!

Who cares who is in your way JUST DUNK DAMMIT!!!

I'm pretty sure Yao has zero vertical.

Monta Ellis is an animal - only guy under 6'3" in the top 125 ... and he is at #37.

I was surprised about Al Jefferson - I thought of him as a Zach Randolph type of post player (Zack has 2 dunks) but I guess Al is more explosive with 53 dunks.

True, he might not have to jump if he's just right under the basket. But how often does it happen? Think.

If you watch the NBA games often, a lot of dunks are made when the players are a few feets away from the basket. In those cases, it takes athletic and leaping ability to make it to the rim. Actually, under those situations, someone who is 6'8" who can really jump can dunk it better than a 7'6" giant. It doesn't really take a genius to understand it, right?

So, Scola has already replaced Yao as the whipping boy who doesn't dunk the ball? Nice.

Nice stats and if there were such a stat is blocked by the rim indeed Hayes would be #1. It's getting ridiculous with Hayes and also Scola. I agree with everybody who says they should dunk more, i can't put my finger on it why they don't.

Because every contested shot close to the rim is termed 'layup', while dunks are mostly uncontested. I bet: uncontested dunk ~ 99%, uncontested layup ~ 99% (that 1% is because of Chuck).
